A presente cartografia descreve e analisa as influências sofridas pelo conceito de cultura corporal desde o seu surgimento. Concebido num contexto de abertura política, inspirou-se nas teorias críticas e foi decisivo na mudança paradigmática que o ensino da Educação Física experimentou a partir da década de 1980. Abrandada pelos estudos antropológicos e, posteriormente, enfraquecida pelo discurso neoliberal dos anos 1990, a noção de cultura corporal teve suas forças renovadas no século XXI mediante a contribuição das teorias pós-críticas da educação.

The musical piece AdNaan by the contemporary Polish composer Jacek Grudzień was written in 2002 for solo cello and tape, specially commissioned by the accomplished cellist Andrzej Bauer.
The composer’s intent was to create a work that would be a certain reflection on the sound landscape surrounding us. AdNAAN thus belongs in the so-called ecological music and related concept of soundscape formulated by Raymond Murray Schafer. Besides the sound signal, the main musical information carrier, an essential role in this work is fulfilled by the space from which the sounds come. The elements of the soundscape (a recited excerpt from Prospero’s monologue from Shakespeare’s Tempest and passages from Lenten songs recorded in a church in Warsaw) and cello sounds have been recorded on audio tape and digitally manipulated. The piece received a recommendation by the UNESCO International Composers’ Tribune in Vienna, gaining world renown as a result.
Currently, new interpretations of this piece are being made, e.g. with solo accordion. The accordion variant of this composition is recorded in the 5.1 surround sound system. To create this version of the work, the tape part was processed by a sound engineer in a recording studio. The instrumentalist recorded the accordion part, to which the sound engineer added several layers of live electronics. The sound engineer used special sound effects that caused the accordion tone colour to blend with tape for a uniform sound of the whole.
The subject of studies and analyses will be the electro-acoustic work AdNaan in both its versions.
The composition in its original version, in turn, has become the inspiration for an intermedia performance art.

This thesis describes the capstone project which was a psychoeducation and experiential workshop for fitness trainers. The workshop investigated the impact trainers’ work may have on the body image of their clients through a dance/movement therapy (DMT) technique. The aim was to enhance the trainers’ sensitivity around body image issues of their clients and to create a space for vulnerable movement conversation that may in turn lead to better mental health advocacy for their clients within the scope of ethical practice. The participants of the workshop were six white female identifying trainers ranging from 24 to 35 years of age. The workshop was comprised of a collaborative warm up, a section utilizing the DMT technique of mirroring, a journaling session based on prompts, a presentation of relevant literature and closed with a discussion on the experience. Este texto é um relato do processo em construção de um mapa, costurado com partes de caminhos que percorri, buscando refletir sobre questões suscitadas ao longo da minha trajetória de dançarina, professora e pesquisadora em artes. A partir desse lugar, apresento noções de corpo, dança, democracia cultural e juventude, tecidas ao longo de um percurso que se traduz em um modo de ser artista, pesquisadora e educadora na criação de uma dança própria. Nessa busca, um eixo central de perguntas e movimentos que persistem ao longo dos últimos 15 anos de trabalho é o processo artístico e educativo com jovens da periferia. Este é um percurso de reflexão da relação de jovens com a dança, que me apontou direções para repensar procedimentos artísticos tanto na criação cênica quanto em processos formativos. ABSTRACT: In this article, I demarcate an area of debate within the theoretical field of dance, organizing a thought around the question of the body in its technical-creative dimension. I present briefly the tendencies present in the current debate on subjectivity and the notion of subject.Then I will critique some of the present statements in the pedagogical discourse of dance today, where I will try to denounce the tendency towards certain binary oppositions between conditioning/freedom or reproduction/creation. I approach the concept of " body techniques " by Marcel Mauss, and then point out articulations between this author and the debate about the subject in contemporary cultural theory.

For the dance/movement therapy clinician, reading research to keep up with current knowledge and trends is an important professional development activity that can sometimes seem daunting. Reading research can require a shift of focus, and include technical concepts and language that are different from those of clinical practice. However, professional reading can be enjoyable and rewarding when one feels confident in interpreting research findings. This article aims to offer skills to clinicians with a specific focus on how to read and interpret research that uses qualitative methods. To that end, parallels between research and practice are suggested to help align the reader with the values of qualitative research and how it can be used to enrich clinical practice. We present an overview of the types of qualitative research and necessary components to expect in a clearly written qualitative study. Detailed criteria for use in discerning integrity and validation strategies to use to examine credibility in a qualitative research study are presented and discussed. Brief examples are used to illustrate criteria presented, and a special section on how to appropriately apply qualitative research findings to clinical dance/movement therapy practice is included.
This paper takes a new look at the methods of embodiment for psychotherapy supervision. It makes a rigorous distinction between knowledge derived by language and knowledge derived by the body without the intervention of conscious thought.
