ABSTRACT Automobile sector is one of the most blooming sectors now-a-days. With the advent of computer assisted engineering and the blend of classic methodologies combined together to bring the most durable result about pre-manufacturing analysis and design optimization. This paper presents an overview of the role of Computer Assisted Engineering in the Design and Simulation of a Formula Vehicle.

This work contains an analysis of the development in Brazil of the drawing, engineering and manufacturing computer-aided systems - CAD/CAE/CAM - in several areas of knowledge, in the light of Industrial Property, adopting as measured variables the patent requests published by the INPI and the "espacenet" data base, during the period from January/1999 until December/2003. This work aims at disseminating the culture of protecting intellectual property generated in Brazil, becoming a tool to determine he current national tendency as to the use of the aforementioned systems. The studies show the demands of the productive market in contrast with the integration of tasks made possible by computerized systems and their development, the main principles concerning Intellectual Property with an emphasis to the patents, and the judicial framework available in the country to regulate the subject. Finally, considering the results of the research, experts in Industrial Property are interviewed in order to achieve an analysis of the Brazilian scenario.

RESUMEN Se comparan mecanismos que tienen movimiento lineal de salida, finalmente se utiliza un tornillo de potencia y tuerca con rosca trapezoidal o ACME, lo anterior para el posicionamiento de un eje de una mesa cartesiana 2D utilizada para el proceso de troquelado en tubería ADEME ranuarada o punzonada, se incluyen los cálculos del torque necesario para mover la mesa como la carga, en este caso una lámina de acero ASTM A-283 grado B cuya masa aproximada es de 195 kg, además del cálculo de la potencia requerida para la selección del motor eléctrico rotatorio. The process is to increase the productivity and reduce the CAE FE-Modeling and analysis setup time so that overall time for product development is reduced and increases the CAE efficiency through commercially available FEA software's. Now a day's oil canning and strength stiffness analysis is widely used in Automobile BIW, Closures and Trims, to see surface deflection and strength stiffness. In CAE durability analysis, 20 to 30 % of time is required for oil canning and strength stiffness analysis for BIW, Closures and Trim components, so, our proposed approach will reduce this time with accuracy and can be used easily in any commercially available CAE preprocessing software's and FEA solvers.

The main aim of this paper isto design, analyze and develop a fully comfortableMCM (Multipurpose Commode Motorized) wheelchair for handicapped users. The purpose of the study was to design a cost effective, adjustable, and lightweight wheelchair with lot of good features. A quality function design of the wheelchair is prepared on CATIA V5 software and also there simulations and weight evaluated with their performance. Design model was prepared using anthropometric parameters of tallest user. To assess the wheelchair designs, static strength, and stability, here the researchers carried out the static and crash analysis using 1D,2D and 3D meshing with the help of ANSYS 14.0 and HYPERMESH 12.0, thereby applying loads and various boundary constraints to evaluate the deformation and the von-mises stress on different members to study the high stress concentration points.Wheelchair designed for paralysis were developed that were cost effective, adjustable and had light weight compared to commercially available wheelchairs.

Structural optimization tools have grasped enormous applications in engineering design and development activities because of increasing demands of lightweight and rigid products. In this milieu, researchers have exploited the potentials of nonparametric structural optimization tools like topology optimization by coupling and integrating with other compatible softwares. The first part of this paper deals with the mathematical physical fundamentals of the problem formulation of topology optimization. In the second part application of topology optimization is described by adopting an integrated design approach. The objective is to find the optimal design proposal of a thing walled aerospace component, for which a predecessor design subsists. Resumen: Desde el punto de vista de la gestión tecnológica, la formulación de estrategias es la actividad clave para un líder de proyecto además de proponer estrategias evaluables, validadas y repetibles. El líder del proyecto además, debe justificar sus estrategias con respecto a los sistemas de innovación como puede ser el uso de los niveles de maduración de la tecnología (TRL) para que los departamentos de ingeniería, financiero y mercadotecnia gestionen los recursos para cumplir con las actividades solicitadas. Esta investigación muestra evidencia del tipo de actividades estratégicas que genera un departamento de ingeniería para la innovación de producto, específicamente en el diseño y estándares de madurez tecnológica. Parte de visualizar el cumplimiento de una especificación TRL 1, seguido de demostrar por medios de análisis de ingeniería mecánica el cómo se puede estandarizar eficientemente un proceso analítico de corte de material con métodos de elemento finito y la ayuda del CAE para convertirlo en un proceso que permita certidumbre en procesos no comunes ni considerados en el diseño mecánico, el resultado puede resultar innovador para la enseñanza de la ingeniería mecánica e incluso para la manufactura del troquelado si se cuentan con las herramientas de cómputo o alianzas con centros de investigación y desarrollo.

Abstract: From the point of view of technological management, the strategy is the key for a project leader in addition to evaluable validated and repeatable strategies. The project leader must also justify its strategies regarding innovation systems, such as the use of Technology Readiness Level (TRL) for the engineering, financial and marketing departments. This research gives evidence of the strategic activities generated by the engineering department focused on product innovation, specifically in the design process and technological maturity. This research shows evidence of the type of strategic activities by an engineering department for product innovation, specifically in the design and tecnological standards. It begins focusing  on compliance TRL 1 specification, proving by mechanical engineering analysis how to efficiently standardize a die cutting with finite element methods (CAE) developing a process that allows certainty in die cutting that is not common or considered in mechanical design, the result can be innovative for the teaching of mechanical engineering and even for the manufacture of die cutting if there are computer tools or alliances with research and development centers.

El presente documento de política pública tiene como objetivo analizar la situación de pago de los alumnos egresados de carreras de educación superior financiadas a través del crédito con garantía estatal de la ley 20.027, también conocido como Crédito con Aval del Estado o CAE.

El CAE será reemplazado por un nuevo sistema de crédito estudiantil, presentado en el año 2018 por el ejecutivo y actualmente en discusión en el Congreso Nacional, con el objetivo de desbancarizar el sistema, mejorar aspectos relevantes en su diseño y reducir los niveles de morosidad y endeudamiento en sus egresados.

Metodológicamente, el documento pone la atención en tres elementos claves de la situación de pago: 1) la condición de morosidad del egresado; 2) las solicitudes de suspensión del pago del crédito por desempleo o cesantía sobreviniente y 3) las solicitudes de rebaja de las cuotas del crédito al 10% de los ingresos del egresado, con el fin de conocer las variables determinantes que afectan las probabilidades de ocurrencia de estos tres elementos  a través de un modelo probit. Las variables relevantes a estudiar incluyen el género, el nivel socioeconómico, el tipo de establecimiento de enseñanza media, la región de residencia, las notas de enseñanza media (NEM), el promedio en la prueba de selección universitaria (PSU), el tipo de institución de educación superior (IES), duración de la carrera, entre otras variables relevantes.

El estudio nos muestra que la probabilidad de morosidad aumenta, ceteris paribus, por variables como la edad, el quintil de ingreso, el tipo de IES y por cambios de carrera. A su turno, disminuye por variables como el vivir en la región metropolitana, la acreditación de la IES, las NEM, el género y tipo de colegio de origen. En cuanto a la suspensión y contingencia, vemos que aumenta por los cambios de carrera, los años financiados y el género. A su vez, disminuye por el tipo de IES elegida, el quintil de ingreso, la edad, las NEM y la duración de la carrera.

Estos aspectos, que impactan en el comportamiento de pago de los beneficiarios, no se abordan en el proyecto de ley del nuevo sistema de crédito para la educación superior, por lo que no es posible inferir que la morosidad, y el endeudamiento asociado a ésta, disminuirá con su implementación.

Drip irrigation techniques have been used in the agricultural production industry as an advanced water-saving irrigation method in recent decades. However advantageous this method, there are still some difficulties in projecting the efficiency of such systems. Most especially, determination of the losses because of the emitters is very important in order to set up an efficient irrigation system. This study is focused on determining head losses for agricultural drip irrigation systems with cylindrical in-line type drip emitters using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques. In applications such as architecture, early design sketches often mislead the target audience (SSRL96). Approxi- mate human-drawn sketches are typically accepted as a better way of demonstrating fundamental design concepts. To this end we have designed an algorithm that creates lines that perceptually resemble human-drawn lines. Our algorithm works directly with input point data and physically based mathematical model of human arm movement. Further, the algorithm does not rely on a database of human drawn lines, nor does it require any input other than the end points of the lines to generate a line of arbitrary length. The algorithm will generate any number of aesthetically pleasing and natural looking lines, where each one is unique. Based on this, the author verifies the validity of this model in intellectual evolution of an automobileproduct design.

The efficacy of virtual reality (VR) as a design support technique is widely recognised by industries. However, the efficiency of the routine employment of VR into the product development process (PDP) still finds an obstacle in the poor integration of the tools employed. The use of VR still needs long and quite hard procedures to work effectively; the models have to be converted into a format that is compatible with VR systems and each task requires an effort to prepare the virtual environment or to post-process the results that depend on the complexity of the task. This work analyses some VR applications into the PDP and describes some ideas to effectively support the operator that prepares the virtual environment. These ideas have been tested by developing four software interfaces, able to create an easy data exchange link between VR and other design tools like CAD, CAE and computer aided control engineering (CACE).
