Various initiatives are taken globally to make knowledge repositories more accessible to researchers by exploiting the internet platform and developing a model that allows free access. India is also actively participating in this new initiative. Open access to scientific knowledge is an integral part of India’s S&T policy intervention. Some of the major international and Indian national initiatives are highlighted. Further efforts that would be required to make Indian participation more fruitful are also brought out.

Under Article 39 of TRIPS, Members are obliged to ensure protection of undisclosed information through systems developed through appropriate legislations. Considering the vast repository of undisclosed knowledge, practices and products possessed by large number of our vaidyas, hakims, artisans and artists, paper explores the possibility of India’s bringing in a sui generis system of protection of undisclosed information/trade secrets. Besides, it defines trade secrets, discusses TRIPS and trade secrets, and methods and practices followed for protection of trade secrets in India and abroad.

Themain challengein wireless sensor network is to improve the fault tolerance of each
node and also provide an energy efficient fast data routing service. In this paper we propose an
energyefficient node fault diagnosis and recovery for wireless sensor networks referred as fault tolerant
multipath routing scheme for energy efficientwireless sensor network (FTMRS).The FTMRSis based on
multipath data routing scheme. One shortest path is use for main data routing in FTMRS technique and
other two backup paths are used as alternative path for faulty network and to handle the overloaded
traffic on main channel.Shortest path data routing ensures energy efficient data routing. The
performance analysis of FTMRSshows better results compared to other popular fault tolerant techniques
in wireless sensor networks.

The paper describes the traditional food systems of indigenous peoples of western Canada (British Columbia) and documents how they have changed over the time, especially since European newcomers arrived in the region. The impacts of dietary change on the health of indigenous peoples, providing a case example of edible camas (Camassia spp.; Liliaceae) to illustrate how traditional food use has declined have been discussed. Ten major factors are identified as influencing dietary change: loss of territory for accessing traditional food, loss of traditional management practices such as landscape burning, introduction of new foods, land degradation and transformation, barriers to intergenerational knowledge transfer, colonial policies privileging agriculture, regulations against indigenous cultural practices; and globalization and domination of mainstream food systems.
