This study addresses the French morphological construction [VN/A/Adv/P]N/A. The main objectives are to posit a single rule for its formation and to question the implications of the agent polysemy. ...

In this paper we will analyze the conceptual and computational motivations of the property of displacement in natural languages from a revisited perspective. We will account for displacement phenomena proposing our own version of displacement-as-external token Merge, as opposed to the traditional displacement-as-literal movement or, more recently, displacement-as-copy and Merge (Chomsky, 1995; Kitahara, 1997; Nunes, 2004). Our focus, as far as empirical data is concerned, will be set on parasitic gaps and their derivation, comparing our proposal with previous accounts making particular stress on the idea that operations are not feature-driven but interface-driven.

access article distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Motivated by some works on derivations on rings, Chandramouless-waran and Thiruveni discussed the notion of derivations on semirings. In this paper, we discuss the notion of right derivations on semirings and prove some simple properties. Mathematics Subject Classification: 16Y60

In this paper, it is defined that left *-α-derivation, generalized left *-α-derivation and *-α-derivation, generalized *-α-derivation of a *-ring where α is a homomorphism. The results which proved for generalized left *-derivation of R in [1] are extended by using generalized left *-α-derivation. The commutativity of a *-ring with generalized left *-α-derivation is investigated and some results are given for generalized *-α-derivation.

We show the existence of Lax equations which does not correspond to the vanishing of the Lie or covariant derivative of a (1, 1) type tensor field with respect to a vector field, but they have a different origin, and we provide a more general setting for this kind of equations.

We compute the automorphism group of the q-enveloping algebra U_q(sl_4^+) of the nilpotent Lie algebra of strictly upper triangular matrices of size 4. The result obtained gives a positive answer to a conjecture of Andruskiewitsch and Dumas. We also compute the derivations of this algebra and then show that the Hochschild cohomology group of degree 1 of this algebra is a free (left)-module of rank 3 (which is the rank of the Lie algebra sl(4)) over the center of U_q(sl_4^+).

Motivated by some results on derivations in rings and derivations of BCI algebras recently we introduce the notion of derivations on d-algebras and f-derivations on d-algebras. In this paper we introduce the notion of left F-derivations of d-algebras and investigate some simple and interesting results.
Let R be a ∗-prime ring with involution ∗ and center Z(R). An additive mapping F:R→R is called a semiderivation if there exists a function g:R→R such that (i) F(xy)=F(x)g(y)+xF(y)=F(x)y+g(x)F(y) and (ii) F(g(x))=g(F(x)) hold for all... more

An additive mapping F:R→R is called a semiderivation if there exists a function g:R→R such that (i) F(xy)=F(x)g(y)+xF(y)=F(x)y+g(x)F(y) and (ii) F(g(x))=g(F(x)) hold for all x,y∈R. In the present paper, some well known results concerning derivations of prime rings are extended to semiderivations of ∗-prime rings.
A running commentary is offered on the first half of GLA, § 17, and suggests that Frege anticipated the method of demonstration used by Paul Bernays for the DeductionTheorem.

This research aims to investigate various vocabulary learning patterns of the Saudi learners majoring in English language at Prince Sattam Abdulaziz University. Studies have revealed that English as first language/English as second language (EFL/ESL) language abilities, which include both reading and writing, are heavily dependent on learners' vocabulary competency. A common practice in vocabulary learning is decoding and building vocabulary through word recognition and its meaning. However, despite several syntactical and morphological patterns for decoding and practice, some barriers still exist for Saudi learners in decoding their meaning accurately and cohesively. This research is based on investigating how the acquisition of blends can happen, and how it can be used comfortably as discourse markers. A blend (also termed a portmanteau) is not linguistic jargon, though its construction looks uncommon or abnormal. It is a type of lexical item in which the beginning of one word is combined with the final part of another word-for example, 'brunch' is a combination of 'breakfast' and 'lunch', and 'smog' comes from 'smoke' and 'fog'. This study has also attempted to segment portmanteaus according to their affixes and roots or morphemes, which could be seen as a theoretical and methodological contribution to the study of psycholinguistics. This study recommends a Vocabulary Acquisition Model (VAM) for vocabulary instructors to teach blends or portmanteaus.

Yellow Fever is a fatal disease that causes yellowness and high fever. It is known to be highly contagious and it is mostly prevalent in Africa, where it is know n to be originated from. However, the derivations of this disease have reached other continents across the sea and they seem to be in different order. We mostly focused on the derivations within Africa and discovered that the geographical derivations of this disease also have different frequencies. We proved this phenomenon by analysing the sequences through apriori and decision tree.
