This guide is a list of the most significant Tea Trading Firms of the Russian Empire of all forms of property: Trading Houses, Partnerships, Sales Offices, Joint-stock Companies, Consumption Companies, etc.
The firms of employers from different ethnic groups (Russian, Jewish, migrants from France and Germany, employers from Caucasus and Central Asia) are viewed.
The information on the change of the names of some Tea Trading Firms in the period of theirs activity is presented. There are not only the official names in the book but also everyday, conversational and common versions.
The handbook contains the identifier of trademarks of Tea Trading Firms and includes a lot of illustrations. There is a list of sources on the history of tea and tea-trade in Russia at the end of the book. En la guía se someten a examen  compañías  pertenecientes a empresarios que representan varios grupos étnicos: rusos, judíos, naturales de Francia y Alemania, de  Cáucaso y Asia Central.
Se  da  información sobre el cambio de denominación de algunas compañías durante el tiempo de su actividad. Además de las denominaciones oficiales se dan a conocer nombres de uso corriente, coloquiales y tergiversados.
La guía cuenta con un índice de marcas comerciales de una serie de compañías distribuidoras del té y dispone de un gran número de ilustraciones. En la parte final del libro se da la bibliografía y se citan libros  dedicados a la historia del té y de la venta de éste en Rusia. This multi-volume edition is devoted to people who were selling tea in the Russian Empire. It includes tea sellers’ biographical materials. Data about their family members, relatives, descendants is given as well. The edition also contains tea sellers’ biographies from different ethnic and culture groups: the Russians, the Jews, the French, the Germans, the Chinese, the Tatar, etc. Everybody who sold tea in the Russian Empire. The book describes the period from 1700s till 1930s.
The edition covers distributers of such types of tea as: Chinese, Indian, Ceylon, Russian. Besides, from this book you can learn about coffee, sugar, Yerba mate, confectionary goods and wines dealers if these people were involved into selling tea.
The materials for the book were gathered from the archives, rare editions from libraries, private collections, family assemblages, periodic publications of 19 – early 20 century.
This edition enables the reader to retrace the evolution of merchant capital assets and tea-selling dynasties. Biographies describe the evolution of merchant capital assets and dynasties in the tea business.

The study of unknown and therefore unexploited genetic material from landraces and wild relatives could be essential to help modern plant breeders to respond to ongoing requirements and new challenges in food production. The present study evaluates the most relevant physicochemical values and nutrient contents of a genetically unique array of traditional melon varieties, cultivated in Spain at least since the 19th century, and compares them with modern melon hybrids available on the market. This research is complemented with an assessment of variety, environment and repetition effects on each trait to determine their stability. who worked in the tea trade during the Russian Empire and then the Soviet Union,
covering the period from 1700 to 1923. The entries contain information not only on
tea merchants themselves, but also on their family members and some ancestors
and descendants.
The biographical information comes primarily from archives and academic
publications, allowing readers to trace the evolution of tea merchant dynasties and
their fortunes, following longer dynasties through several generations as they shifted
from the merchant class during the tsarist Russia to members of the professional
intelligentsia during the early Soviet period. The coverage is not limited to those who

Drinks and drinkers permeate the history of art. Since the Renaissance, the social, cultural and symbolic functions of drinking have featured widely, in historical, religious and mythological painting, as well as in genre scenes, portraiture and independent still-lifes. By representing the bodily act of drinking—at once human necessity, pleasure and social habit—these works constitute a corpus rich in social, cultural and anthropological implications. The analysis of drinks and drinkers, however, has long been left to food historians. Taking as its focus the fruitful exchange between art and food, this session examines the impact of drinks on the formal analysis of art, on aesthetic theories and notions of creation, as well as on artistic sociabilities and sensory encounters. If we consider the drink as a global object, then images of drinkers form an ideal perspective from which to investigate not only the relationship between sensory experience and the social and cultural dimensions of artistic representation, but also the underlying tensions between human production and necessity peculiar to any society. Papers will address the shifting construction of the drinker across space, time and media, from the seventeenth-century Netherlands to twentieth-century Britain, from imaginary depictions in paint to the concrete setting of the pub. Exploring manifestations of the drinker both divine and decadent, the session will aim to shed new light on the institution of drinking, on acts of consumption both natural and excessive, and on the problematic relationship between creativity and intoxication.

The article deals with the analysis of the vocabulary denoting alcohol-containing drinks and soft beverages represented in the historical source of the end of the 19th century «The Dictionary of the Ukrainian Language» by B.D. Hrynchenko. The attention has been paid to the significance and role of the lexicographic work for the modern linguistic and ethnographic studios. In the process of the research, the quantitative composition of the representatives of the analyzed lexical and semantic grouping fixed in the dictionary, has been revealed, the motivational basis of the revealed lexemes has been denoted, the nomenclature of the names from the point of view of the existing derivational processes has been analyzed, the peculiarities of the structure of the dictionary entries have been accentuated which lie in a detailed or incomplete description of the qualitative characteristics of drinks as well as the frequency of the references to the area of spreading of this or that realia.
In order to observe the changes in the vocabulary which took place during the previous century, a comparative analysis of the lexical units  represented in the dictionary with the nomens which function in the dialectal speech at the present stage of the development of the language, has been made.
