Extreme Turbulent Environments

In this paper, the dimensions of the new paradigm, the paradigm of complexity and its impact on strategic management are examined. The results of this study show that, since the fundamental issue of strategic management in turbulent environments is to achieve creativity which can adapt with a turbulent environment as well as maintaining stability, strategic management in complexity paradigm will not be a rational formulation of the strategic plan which is then implemented and controlled. In this paradigm, however, the creation of strategy should be an emergent and self-organized process that arises from spontaneous group discussion between directors and managers on strategic issues. Implementation of strategies should also be flexible and at the same time, orderly. Decision-making should be decentralized, and provide and facilitate learning and experiencing. Also, the personnel should be encouraged to change. The control should be done locally and through the personnel. Managers must provide members with the information needed for this approach and exert control through the members or their teams.

Our work is motivated by the analysis of ash plume dynamics, arising in the study of volcanic eruptions. Such phenomena are characterized by large Reynolds number (exceeding $10^7$) and a large number of polydispersed particles~[1]. Thus, the choice of the methodology to be used is straightforward: we need LES of a multiphase gas-particles flow. Since the simulation of the behavior of a large number of dispersed particles is very difficult with Lagrangian methods, we model the particles as a continuum, Eulerian fluid (dust), by using reduced models involving two fluids, as proposed in Ref.~[2,3,4]. Moreover, we need a robust numerical scheme to simultaneously treat compressibility, buoyancy effects and turbulent dispersal dynamics. Population of the study was LIS professionals across Pakistan, who have proper accounts on social media like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin etc. A convenient sampling technique was used to the get the data from the participants. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the gathered data. Market based inadequate salary, lack of proper appreciation/acknowledgment, job dissatisfaction and demotivation were four major factors which force and compel an employee to leave one system or organization. Better opportunities, satisfactory salary package, bright future and professional development/growth were the four major factors which could be opted to reduce employee turnover in turbulent environment of the organization as these were noted the motivating factors which attract the employee to join another system (organization). Findings of the study are helpful for competent authorities of the organization, administration of the libraries and policy makers to minimize employee turnover and also helpful for organization’s management to understand  leading mechanism to manage employees efficiently and effectively.
