Gregory Tsamblak

Впервые в историографии на современном методологическом уровне реконструируется балкано-византийский период жизни и деятельности Григория Цамблака. Актуализируется проблема периода «вакантной» или «вдовствующей» Киевской кафедры в ВКЛ (1406–1415 г.) – после смерти Киприана и до первого летописного упоминания о Григории Цамблаке как о митрополите. На основе привлечения широкого корпуса источников раскрывается значение учреждения на Новогрудском соборе 1415 г. самостоятельной (автономной) митрополии в контексте церковной политики великого князя Витовта. Вводится в научный оборот комплекс документов из сборника посланий XVII в., связанных с избранием Григория Цамблака на Киевскую кафедру. Впервые в отечественной историографии на основе источников и новейших исследований изучается участие митрополита Григория Цамблака в работе Констанцского собора в 1418 г.

The image of the non-Orthodox in Camblak's work is unequivocally negative. Behind the abusive rhetoric lie patterns well known to social psychology. One can easily recognize the author's dehumanizing attitude, which reveals the meaning of many elements of Camblak's narrative in The Martyrdom of John the New. The concept of dehumanization is useful for the study of the attitude of medieval literate elites towards minorities. Although at its core it concerns cognitive phenomena it immediately makes us think about their behavioral implications.

This work is a critical study of the hagiography of the cult of the Holy Great Martyr John the New of Suceava , (next in the text JN), the Patron of trade. The population performing this cult of Budzhak, follows the example of the Orthodox community of the city of Akkerman, nowadays called Belgorod-Dniestrovsky in the Ukraine. Such a study of the JN cult, not only from the point of view of hagiology, but also of psychology and of sociology of religion, allows to form an understanding of the dynamics of the economic development of the region.

The arrival of Gregory the Sinaite to Mount Athos (c. 1326) and his relocation to the borderland between Bulgaria and the Byzantine Empire, where he founded a monastery in Paroria, marked the beginning of a new chapter in the evolution of spiritual life. Gregory's hesychast ideas attracted a substantial number of disciples from various nationalities, some of whom went on to become prominent representatives of spiritual life in their respective milieus (Patriarch Kallistos of Constantinople, Patriarch Euthymius of Tărnovo). These ideas rapidly spread among South Slavs. The writings of Patriarch Euthymius, the founder of the Tărnovo Literary School, soon became well known in the Serbian milieu and were often copied. After the fall of Tărnovo (1393) many followers of Euthymius's literary ideas relocated to Serbian lands. Following the Parorian traditions of Gregory the Sinaite, in Serbian lands they established a series of smaller monastic communities, where they pursued translation and intellectual work; these communities are usually referred to as pustinja (desert, hermitage) precisely to emphasize their wish to avoid contacts with the wider community, both monastic and secular. Among them two names are particularly noteworthy: Constantine of Kostenets / Konstantin Kostenechki and Gregory Tsamblak. Both had enviable reputations as men of letters even before they came to the Despotate. As a layman, Constantine was close to Despot Stefan Lazarević and spent time at his court; he wrote the Explanatory Treatise on the Letters and the Vita of Despot Stefan Lazarević. Upon his arrival in Serbia Gregory became the hegoumenos (abbot) of the Dečani Monastery and penned the Service and Vita of the monastery's founder Stefan of Dečani, as well as the Account of the Translation of the Relics of St Paraskeva from Tărnovo to Vidin and Serbia. By the end of the 14 th century, a new literary genre emerged in Serbia-the paraklesis, which was based precisely on the Tărnovo literary models. Forced to leave Tărnovo and Bulgaria, the refugees who had arrived in Serbia brought the traditions of the Tărnovo Literary School and thereby had a significant impact on the development and spirit of Serbian literature in the first half of the 15th century.

Статья посвящена проблеме религиозных контактов между Западом и Востоком Европы в период Средневековья, а именно участию киевского митрополита Григория Цамблака в работе Констанцского собора 1414–1418 гг. В историографии до сих пор миссия православного иерарха остается малоизученным историческим эпизодом. Сообщения Хроники Ульриха Рихенталя и иные источники предоставляют богатый фактологический материал для анализа политического контекста миссии Григория Цамблака, уточнения хронологии его пребывания на соборе, возможного состава его свиты. Автор приходит к выводу об отсутствии в свите Григория Цамблака православных иерархов и доказывает, опираясь на одно из свидетельств Хроники Ульриха фон Рихенталя, что его сопровождали только священники.

Култ свете Параскеве / Петке Епиватске добио је јако упориште код балканских Словена када је бугарски цар, Иван Асен II, пренео њене мошти у своју престоницу Трново (1230/1231). Тим поводом су са грчког били преведени хагиографски и химнографски текстови посвећени овој светици. Култ се брзо проширио код Бугара и Срба, те је најстарији српски препис службе сачуван у рукопису из средине XIII века (Архив САНУ 361). Најстарији бугарски препис ове службе сачуван је у рукопису с краја XIII века (Зограф 54) и веома је сличан српском. Ова најстарија редакција службе сачувана је како у једном броју српских, тако и бугарских рукописа XIV века. После пада Трнова у турске руке (1393), мошти Свете Параскеве биле су пренете у Видин где су остале до турског освајања овог града (1396). Старањем кнегиње Милице мошти су биле пренете у Србију (1398), а сам догађај подстакао је настанак нових текстова који су, у различитим комбинацијама, ушли у састав бројних српских преписа службе Петки Епиватској.
