Heymericus De Campo

The paper focuses on the Albertist doctrines, but of Neoplatonic origin, of the flow and of the four units that could be found in the Compendium divinorum by Heymeric of Camp and in the De Coniecturis by Nicholas of Cusa. The main interpretative difficulties of these texts are highlighted paying particular attention to the ontological status of the four units: that is, whether they are to be thought only as mental terms or whether they can be conceived as real units. In order to resolve this question, it is proposed to use the terminology of Dietrich of Freiberg in De substantiis spiritualibus.

Considering the historical background and the transmission of the manuscripts, the paper discusses the relations between Nicholas of Cusa († 1464) and the so-called « Cologne School » – Albert the Great, Ulrich of Straβburg, Hugo Ripelin of Straβburg, Dietrich of Freiberg, Meister Eckhart and Berthold of Moosburg. With this approach are highlighted a few moments of the life of Nicholas of Cusa, especially the friendship with Heymeric de Campo between 1425 and 1429, the debate with Johannes Wenck (1442 to 1449) and the meeting with Dionysius the Carthusian in 1451.

El trabajo recoge los principales momentos de la investigación sobre la relación intelectual entre Heymerico de Campo (1395-1460) y Nicolás de Cusa (1401-1464). Parte de Edmond Vansteenberghe, quien llamó la atención sobre el interés del Cusano por Ramón Llull. Tras ello, se analizan las tesis de Rudolf Haubst y Eusebí Colomer, quienes consideraron que Heymerico estaba en el origen de este interés. El tercer punto se detiene en el trabajo de Florian Hamman, que introdujo la hipótesis de que Nicolás y Heymerico no eran discípulo y maestro sino colegas y pares. Finalmente, se muestra el resultado de la investigación de Rudi Imbach, quien subraya que Heymerico fue lector del Cusano.

Summary
This article presents the main stages in the research on the intellectual relationship between Heymericus de Campo (1395-1460) and Nicholas of Cusa (1401-1464). It begins with Edmond Vansteenberghe, who first drew attention to Cusanus interest for Ramon Llull. It follows with Rudolf Haubst and Eusebí Colomer, who considered that Heymericus was at the origin of this interest. The third section analyzes the work of Florian Hamman, who introduced the hypothesis that Nicholas and Heymericus were not disciple and teacher but rather colleagues and peers. Finally, it summarizes Rudi Imbach's research, that shows that Heymericus carefully read Cusanus.

The article presents and publishes the first and second part of Colliget principiorum iuris naturalis, divini et humani philosophice doctrinalium, composed by Heymeric de Campo in 1434 at the request of Nicholas of Cusa. The text is preserved in Codex Cusanus 106 at Bernkastel-Kues and represents one of the few metaphysical treatises written during the Middle Ages Latin outside the tradition of commentaries on Aristotle. The Colliget seeks an original way to combine the universal science of knowledge derived from Raymond Lull with the Aristotelian metaphysical tradition and its reinterpretation by Albert the Great.

El artículo analiza algunos pasajes de De coniecturis de Nicholas de Cusa y de Expositio super Elementationem theologicam Proclii de Berthold of Moosburg en el que se tratan las doctrinas pitagóricas-neoplatónicas de cuaternario y flujo, a fin de comprender afinidades y diferencias entre ellos. También se formula una hipótesis sobre su difusión en la primera mitad del siglo XV en Alemania en el contexto albertista.
