REQUIEM FOR AN URL
This article was originally published in the 2006 inaugural issue of "Trickster," an  online journal of intercultural studies, created by a research group working at the University of Padua (Italy). The activities of the journal ceased after the publication of the issue n. 10. The vicissitude of this article is emblematic of the risks related to online publishing. Since the end of its activities, the access to "Trickster" became increasingly uncertain and was ultimately jeopardized by administrators of the academic website. They proved little concerned with the problem of preserving relevant online content. The URL of the journal was discontinued, without offering alternative online locations. Before the deadline set by the University became effective, the archive was transferred by the editorial board of the defunct Journal to a privately owned URL. However, this commercial website was hacked. Since then the article of the journal are no longer available.

Este ensayo es la continuación de un trabajo sobre la presencia intertextual de Proust y del tema de la memoria en "Rayuela". Se pretende mostrar en qué medida la estructura de las experiencias de memoria involuntaria proustiana pudo influir en la estructura de la experiencia que vive Oliveira en el capítulo 54 de "Rayuela", y así desvelar e interpretar un proceso de migración  y de inversión intertextuales entre los dos textos. Asimismo intentaremos mostrar un proceso de hibridación de las diferentes teorías literarias y filosóficas en la evolución existencial de Oliveira y en el que la influencia proustiana desempeña un papel relevante, a la par que el existencialismo y el surrealismo.

This article is about the complex Angolan linguistic and discursive reality. We consider Bakhtin’s work named “Discourse in the Novel” and the following methodological tools: (i) the existence of a multitude of social voices in the “same” language; (ii) the dialogical coexistence of languages and dialects; (iii) the dialogical relation between social voices in different languages and dialects; (iv) the hybridization of languages, dialects and social voices. Angola is a post-colonial country where Portuguese language is official and taken as liberation flag, object of dispute and conflict, tool of national unification and symbol of identity construction. Finally, this article, by unfolding the complex relation between languages and discourses in Angola, reveals political, identity and cultural matters.

A telenovela é um produto de grande visibilidade na televisão aberta brasileira. Os motivos de seu êxito atraem não apenas telespectadores, mas acadêmicos que a estudam com motivações que vão desde perceber seus efeitos na sociedade e as leituras da audiência até a realização de análises de sua mensagem por meio de tensionamentos entre teorias comunicacionais e o conteúdo exibido. Esta dissertação tem seu foco nesta última abordagem. Aqui a investigação dirige-se pelo tema dos processos de hibridização cultural lidos, de modo peculiar, a partir da ficção seriada televisiva. Desse modo, o trabalho é norteado pelo seguinte problema de pesquisa: "Como são apresentados os processos de hibridização cultural na telenovela "Cordel Encantado" (2011)?". E como objetivo geral tenta-se verificar como o desmoronamento das categorias fixas e pares de oposição entre a cultura erudita, popular e massiva ocorre no conteúdo desta telenovela. Já o objetivo específico, por sua vez, está relacionado a descrever e interpretar como tal desmoronamento é observado pelos personagens e a inter-relação destes na narrativa. Dividida em cinco grandes eixos, a dissertação apresenta logo no primeiro a apresentação do objeto de estudo "Cordel Encantado" por meio de suas características técnicas e estéticas no texto televisivo e o processo de produção por parte das autoras e diretora. O segundo e o terceiro eixos denotam um maior teor teórico que auxilia a leitura da telenovela pelos Estudos Culturais Britânicos e Latinoamericanos (com destaque a este último) e também apresenta uma pluralidade conceitual para compreender os processos de hibridização cultural para além de Néstor García Canclini (o autor que é usado de modo mais aprofundado). No quarto eixo centra-se a discussão metodológica do trabalho, explicitando a escolha pela abordagem qualitativa, além do método da Análise de Imagens em Movimento junto à aplicação dos níveis de homologação dos processos de hibridização cultural. Ainda neste espaço as ideias bakhtinianas de carnavalização e cronótopo são mostradas (e justificadas) como proposta experimental teórico-metodológica. A análise dos personagens (Jesuíno, Açucena/Aurora, Timóteo e o casal Patácio e Ternurinha) e das inter-relações entre eles (Rei Augusto/Capitão Herculano, Rei Augusto/Cozinheira Maria Cesária, Cozinheira Maria Cesária/Duquesa Úrsula e Duquesa Úrsula/Capitão Herculano) fica a cargo do quinto e último eixo. Além de demonstrar como ocorrem os processos de hibridização cultural na análise, as considerações finais trazem a constatação de que eles são apresentados em intensidades distintas que podem ser observadas na dimensão estética visual e verbal, na dimensão dos sistemas culturais, na dimensão das matrizes culturais e na dimensão espaço-temporal do objeto empírico.

A unique hybridization zone of rock lizard species of genus Darevskia, with diploid (2n), triploid (3n) and tetraploid (4n) individuals, occurs in the mountain steppe of central Armenia. Our long-term monitoring has showed an increasing birth rate of triploid hybrids in this mixed population. Among these hybrids, the frequency of captured males with fully developed reproductive systems and presumably fertile females also increased significantly. Consequently, intensive microevolution has taken place in this sympatric population. The morphological, ecological, cytological, histological, and parasitological characteristics of the hybrid Darevskia are presented here and compared with parental species.

The objective of this Master Thesis is to study the impact that the Clean Energy Package for all Europeans, which establishes the electricity market rule modifications, and its effects in the roll out of renewable energy generation in Spain, analysing the different scenarios of the Spanish Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC). Specifically the effect of a series of variables regarding the composition of the generating mix of electricity affects the objetive scenario of Distributed Generation (DG 2030). In addition to that, three legislative changes aimed to increase the renewable energy roll out in Spain introduced in 2020 are analysed: the grid network access and connection, renewable auctions and hibridazion of renewable generation.

In this analysis the access and conexion figures are broke down and the figure of the 430.000 MW unsettled applications in Spain is put in context and denied. The difference between the current system of renewable energy generation auctions and the new system are outlined. Finally, the terms on which hybridization is going to be introduced in the Spanish electricty system are explained.

Resignificar los elementos adoptados de culturas diferentes, según las pautas
locales, se considera habitual a nivel mundial en territorios aislados. En Isla
de Pascua encontramos claros ejemplos de aquello en varios aspectos, desde
el uso dado a diferentes objetos, hasta un especial reciclaje del lenguaje,
e incluso de los sonidos y de la música. Es parte de su historia y se constituye
como una característica de la identidad rapanui. Tomando en cuenta lo anterior,
este artículo aborda diferentes temáticas de la cultura local, centrándose
especialmente en acontecimientos históricos relacionados con la música y con
la adaptación de costumbres propias ante elementos introducidos. El testimonio
inédito de ancianos y otros actores destacados guiaron esta investigación.
Abstract
Re-signification of adopted elements from different cultures, following local guides, is considered quite common in isolated territories across the world. Indeed in Easter Island we find clear examples of this in various aspects of life, from the use made of different objects, to a specific recycling of language, even of sound and music. This is part of the island’s history and is a key characteristic of the Rapa Nui’s identity. Considering the above, this article discusses different topics of local culture, particularly focusing on historical events related to music and the adaptation of local customs facing introduced elements. The unpublished testimony of elders and other prominent actors guided this research. Key words: identity, hybridity, tradition, memory, music

This article focuses on the Brazilian sociologist Gilberto Freyre (1900-1987). It is my goal to demonstrate how Freyre applied Nietzschean ideas to his interpretation of Brazilian society in an attempt to concretize the prophecy of the “new man” in the shape of the multiracial “mestiço.” By Nietzschean ideas I mean ideas indebted to Nietzsche directly or indirectly and reflected in the rhetorical, stylistic and argumentative strategies used by Freyre. It is not my intention to discuss whether Freyre interpreted Nietzsche’s ideas correctly; rather, I wish to highlight parallels to Nietzschean concepts and to indicate how the eclectic, even opportunistic, use of Nietzsche’s work allowed Freyre to move the discussion on Brazilian identity in a new direction.

Casa-grande & Senzala (1933), a obra secular de Gilberto Freyre, foi traditionalmente interpretado de um ponto de vista sociólogo e histórico. Esta interpretação deixou duas questões essenciais em aberto: 1) Como se pode explicar que Freyre interpretou a noção de miscegenação de uma forma (muito) mais positiva do que sociólogos anteriores e 2) Como se pode explicar as tendências elitistas e aristocráticas na sua obra? Este artigo explore estas duas perguntas analisando a influência em Freyre da filosofia de Friedrich Nietzsche através da interpretação de Henry L. Mencken. Argumenta que a influência de Mencken foi maior do que tradicionalmente tem sido admitido e que na obra de Mencken sobre Nietzsche se pode encontrar a mesma interpretação de miscigenação que Freyre mais tarde explorou em Casa-grande & Senzala. Argumenta também que Mencken profundamente influenciou Freyre com as suas ideias aristocráticas e elitistas."

Abstract. In this paper we will present the permeability regimes: concepts conceived to contribute with the understanding of the new roles and necessary skills for the architect and designer to design performative and interactive spaces. This contribution, as will be shown here, is based on theoretical and empirical bases that will address a specific context: the methods for introducing and making tangible the relation between information, human and space for architecture students. Therefore, we will describe the dynamics of an interactive installation developed by undergraduate students, relating it to the permeability regimes.

This international workshop aims to advance the contemporary discussion of Digital Humanities. It will offer to the academic and museum community – as well as to interested guests – the opportunity to learn more about some of the newest digital tools used by researchers. It will also present a significant number of innovative projects related to the research program ART-ES: Appropriations and Hybridizations of Visual and Performing Arts (https://artes.hypotheses.org/).

O século XX potencializou diversos fenômenos culturais e fez surgir diversos outros novos. A cultura se desenvolveu plenamente. Com a convergência de fatores comunicacionais, culturais e sociais como o hibridismo, a cibercultura e a globalização, se fertilizou o terreno para o nascimento, na virada de milênios, do chamado Nobrow: um novo fenômeno comunicacional diretamente ligado às novas tecnologias e novas mídias, em especial ao ciberespaço, que fez surgir uma nova cultura de mesmo nome com o fluxo cultural e o diálogo universalizado de informações proporcionado pelo empoderamento tecnológico em escala mundial; trazendo consequentemente uma democratização dos bens materiais e imateriais criados pela cultura. É um novo momento na história cultural do século XXI.

This paper brings the research that follows a monography presented to the Specialization course in Hybrid Arts of the Federal Technological University of Paraná (2017), it aims to raise a discussion about the possibilities of hybridism in art inserted in commercial contexts of mass culture. It is based on the analysis of South Korean pop culture’s context, through the concepts of cultural industry and mass culture of Adorno and Horkheimer, Rosalind Krauss’s art in the expanded field related to artistic and cultural hybridization, and the historical panorama of the South Korea’s Pop Culture. Crosses what is the South Korea’s pop culture, its trajectory, followed by contextualization about the already cited author’s conceptions. The research proposes reflections about possibilities in studies on the cultural trajectory of South Korea, weaving overlaps with the artistic production in the contemporary context.

Resumo: Através da análise das modificações da religião local comprovadas pelos do-cumentos epigráficos, o objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre os usos do conceito de Romanização para enfocar os resultados do relacionamento cultural entre nativos e Romanos, no sul da província da Lusitânia, durante os séculos l ao III. Pretendemos, também, analisaras "estratégias" usadas pelos Romanos para manter o seu domínio no nível local, assim como as apropriações e ressignificações feitas pelos nativos das práticas culturais Romanas, questões que contribuíram para a consolidação da conquista e para os processos de Romanização.

Abstract: Analyzing the módifications in the local religion certified by the epigraphics documents, the aim of this paper is to argue the uses of the Romanization concept to signify the results of the cultural relationship between natives and Romans at the south of Lusitania 's province during the first to the third centuries. Equally we intend to analyze the "strategies" usedfor Romans to keep it's domain in a local leve!, as well as, the appropriation and reorganization of the Roman cultural practices by the native population, questions that contribute to the consolidation of the conquest and to the processes of Romanization.
