Studies handling the lights and the colors as key components of computation attracted the scientists and engineers since these studies are potentially applicable to the signal processing through optical interconnections between electronic devices. Here, a novel optical computing model is proposed by modifying the known optical parallel logic gates, after employing the printed colors as the input/output data, instead of shadowgram images projected on a screen. The proposed approach allows spontaneous and parallel Boolean operations by simply overlaying the colors printed on films or duplicating the prints on papers. By setting a limited number of color prototypes with known CIELAB color coordinates, prediction of color changes due to duplicated color printing and/or film-on-paper overlaying of the printed colors was performed through Boolean “AND” operation and their experimental confirmation after actual color reading was also performed. Furthermore, possible applications of this CIELAB-coded printable logic gate system in natural computing and development of novel color barcodes were discussed.

The purpose of this project is to develop an objective analysis method to permit skin parameters of each pixel. The project is focused on methods of skin analysis based on various algorithms which determine the color of skin. The tests are based on skin pixels on a combination of hue, saturation, intensity and RGB values of individual pixels. The effect of climate was observed on fruit quality of four low-chill peach cultivars (Flordaprince, Flordaglo, UFGold, and TropicBeauty). The cultivars were evaluated in three locations (north–central, central, and southwest Florida). Soluble solids content (SSC), titratable acidity (TA), SSC:TA ratio, fruit weight, blush, and fruit development period (FDP) were determined. Longer FDPs were observed at the north–central location than at the southwest location. Fruit development and the expression of quality attributes were affected by location during fruit growth with higher color and SSC and shorter FDP occurring under warmer conditions. Within locations, ‘UFGold’ had the shortest FDP except at the southwest location where its chilling requirement may not have been met. At the central and southwest locations, ‘UFGold’ also tended to have lower TA values and higher SSC;TA ratios than the other cultivars.

How can a normal trichromat person attempt to see a tetrachromatic image? We propose 2 techniques, both of which use the time dimension. This makes it difficult to use the techniques to visualise tetrachromatic videos so, we deal here only with the visualisation of tetrachromatic (static) images. In one of the visualisation techniques we use " movies " (as in a Matlab movie) made of frames that are trichromatic renderings of tetrachromatically-processed versions of the tetrachromatic image to be visualised, where a parameter in 4-Runge 1 space varies across the versions. In the other technique, we give a " dynamic texture " to regions of pixels having a UV or, alternatively an IR component. The texture can be for example a superposed " granularity " (texture) that " vibrates " in time, where the density of the grains depends on the amount of UV (or NIR) present in the tetrachromatic colour.

A pronounced residual effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers, applied in maize crop was observed on yields of maize-gobhi sarson cropping system. The experiment was conducted with 10 treatments of N, P, K, FYM, crop residue and zinc sulphate nutrients. The highest growth, yield and yield components of maize crop were recorded with 100% recommended fertilizer dose-RFD + ZnSO4 20 kg/ha and the grain yield (2409 kg/ha) was about 101% higher over the control. In case of gobhi sarson, the highest seed yield (1081 kg/ha) was observed as a pronounced residual effect of 10 t/ha FYM in preceding maize crop; which was about 81% higher over the control. The treatments where 50% N was substituted by FYM and crop residue in maize crop had the best reflection in enhancing the seed yield of gobhi sarson to the tune of 74 and 70% over the control and 16 and 13% over farmers practice. Five photoreceptors or five types of camera pixel filters with responses normalized to the interval [0, 1] give rise to a 5 dimensional hypercube [0, 1] 5 of combined responses (colours). As previously done, for the trichromatic and tetrachromatic cases, we identify an equatorial PL 3-sphere in the PL 4-sphere boundary ∂[0, 1] 5 of the hypercube. This sphere is the set of hues of colour points in the hypercube. The remaining attributes of luminance and chromatic saturation are given by the midrange and range of the colour coordinates. From the 5-cube we go to a polytopal hexcone type space, to a double-cone type space and to a round Runge space.

ABSTRACT Traffic sign recognition is studied as one of the modern assistance in driving. The main purpose of it is to help driver on realizing traffic sign around the car by using computer vision enhanced to the car. In this paper, a combination method of Color-based Method and SVM is presented to do the traffic sign recognition. Color-based Method with CIELab + hue is chosen because it gives good result on localizing traffic signs. It is first used to preprocess the image to binary image. The binary image is then processed with canny to give more accurate result on detecting traffic signs. To get the traffic sign shape, the preprocessed image is checked by using Ramer-Douglas-Peucker algorithm, this algorithm will approximate each closed object shape in the preprocessed image. Detecting closed object make it unable to detect occluded and attached road signs. In order to detect occluded and attached signs, the proposed method will use two phase of detection by estimating the shape of the arc or later called the shape-arc algorithm. Approximated circle, square, or triangle images will be marked as traffic sign and processed in the recognition step with linear c-SVM. SVM classification will be based on binary images which gives 97% accuracy. The proposed method is more accurate than methods proposed by the reference papers and the detection is able to detect harder problems such as attached signs.

Rice production is massive in Indonesia, therefore maintaining the quality of the product is necessary. Detection and classification of objects have become a very important part in image processing. We performed object detection namely rice. After the object is found, it can be classified into two categories, namely good and damaged rice. We conducted a new study on rice which was carried out per group not per grain to obtain or classify good and damaged rice where we had carried out several steps, namely segmentation process using HSV (hue, saturation, value) color space. HSV is used because of its excellence in representing brightness of the image. We considered evaluating brightness because the tendency of damaged rice is darker or paler compared to good rice. We define a new reduced model to represent coloured images. We propose to use two components for a full definition of a colour instead of three. To that end we take advantage of the geometrical structure of the HCL conical colour space and approximate its circular base by a spiral. We thus write chroma as a function of hue. The resulting spiral is therefore defined by one parameter only. This parameter is then combined with luminance in order to represent all the colour information. Our experiments show that our proposed model ensures an accurate representation of coloured digital images. Furthermore, it preserves the perceptual properties of the original HCL representation.

Para discutir esse tema, as ações de um determinado grupo de jogadores e sua associação com o Brasil são descritas e, a seguir, discutidas conforme as três categorias em que a literatura pré-existente costuma entender o comportamento tóxico em ambientes online: o envio de spam, a trollagem e o griefing. Conclui-se que a agressividade nos jogos multiplayer na internet não é privilégio dos brasileiros e que suas ações não constituem novidade no cenário geral da internet. Por outro lado, as singularidades de seu modo de agir diferenciam os brasileiros dos jogadores de outras nacionalidades.
