Abstrakt: Predmetom výskumu tejto štúdie je analýza fenoménu spirituality v slovenskej rapovej hudbe. Štúdia je rozdelená na dve hlavné časti. V prvej podávame stručný úvod do problematiky spirituality a rapovej hudby v zahraničí. Ústrednou témou je problematická definícia spirituality a jej pluralitný, synkretický a ambivalentný charakter v rape. V druhej časti skúmame spirituálne alúzie v podobe tém, myšlienok či motívov s cieľom poskytnúť prvú sondu tejto problematiky v slovenskom kontexte. Súčasťou tejto časti je aj spirituálna charakterizácia tvorby jednotlivých raperov vzhľadom na pôvod a typ spirituálnych alúzií. Vzhľadom na veľký počet rapových spevákov a skupín sa diskurzívne vymedzujeme na tvorbu štyroch známych slovenských raperov: Kaliho, Rytmusa, Majka Spirita a Suveréna.

This article discusses the implications of the symbology of Kali from a different and fresh perspective and positions the worship of Kali in the bigger picture of the divinisation of everything in Sanatana Dharma. It also discusses the needless marginalisation of so-called 'ugly' and 'terrible' and how these prejudices have to be overcome to realise the Divinity innate in all.

This paper, written for my course in Hindu Traditions, aims to demonstrate the duality of Kali, particularly relating to her destructive abilities as a means to act as a guide through a period of transformation. Destruction is typically followed by creation and transformation is inherent during this process. Whether welcomed or not, this process occurs without prejudice and to seek guidance from the Goddess of Destruction herself aims to ensure the best possible outcome.

The current paper attempts to present an analysis of the role of the Divine Feminine in Hinduism, focusing particularly on the Tantric goddesses. It deals with the sensitive issue of gender emancipation from the perspective of Religionswissenschaft (“Religious studies”) and socio-cultural anthropology. By applying a transdisciplinary perspective in the sense of Geertz’s postmodern notion of “blurred genres”, we discuss the idea of gender-inclusive dharma in creative and emancipatory ways by evoking the Tantric goddesses as possible role models for Hindu women in contemporary India.

The Pali commentary on Dhammapada 252 takes the word 'kitavaa' as an instrumental singular of a feminine stem kitavaa- which it takes to mean "a camouflage of leaves". This paper attempts to show that it is the nominative singular of a masculine kitavant(u)- of which the Sanskrit equivalent would be *krtavant-, meaning "a winning gambler", derived from 'krta': the winning die + the suffix .vant. The paper also points out several other glaring misinterpretations of words in the commentary on this word and attempts to unravel the process that led to these misinterpretations.
