Lacunae

Книга представляет цветосемантику в категориях языка и культуры. Посредством лексики и фразеологии четырёх славянских народов – русских, беларусов, украинцев и чехов проанализирована символика и роль цвета в национальных картинах мира. Объектом исследования выступают цвета тёплого спектра (красный, жёлтый, оранжевый).

This monography is dedicated to the study of the semantics of colours in the language and points out interlingual equivalents and lacunas of the „colour“ lexicon in phraseology of the Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian and Czech languages. The author continues exploring the topic she initiated in her previous book “Essays on Comparative Phraseology. Grey Colour Palette in National Pictures of the World as reflected by Russians, Belarusians and Czechs“ (2016) and this time she studies how colours of the warm spectrum (red, yellow, orange) project into the worldviews of the analyzed Slavic nations.

Higher education plays an important role in uplifting society and the world. It helps in framing opinions regarding all facets of human life making us better individuals. In Indian society, higher education enhances job and marital prospects. The institutes of higher education in India is plagued by various demerits. India has a large number of educational institutes both in the public and the private sector, the private participation increasing after globalization. In a bid to bring about competition among the institutes of higher education, the system of ranking had been introduced in the west though almost all the universities worldwide have adopted this practice, and India is no exception. However, Indian universities fare very badly when compared to universities in developed countries and also in Asian countries. Indian universities do not find a place in the list of the top 200 global institutes. Universities in the USA and UK have reported good performance in all the parameters as compared to Indian universities. Universities in Singapore, China, and Japan are also showing better performance. This paper analyzes the weaknesses in Indian institutes and offers remedial measure

The Post-war era saw significant change in the way artists work with, around and within the increasingly fluid structure of the contemporary archive. Scholars like Hal Foster identify a shift from 19th century institutional approaches  to emerging methods that fundamentally de-center history, revealing information gaps (or lacunae ) of investigative importance. Newer tactics allow artists to use the once-monumental, sterile structure of the archive to deconstruct and re-contextualize masses of information and their relationship to cultural memory. Lost or displaced information becomes central to these contemporary archivist tendencies, which salvages them from institutional entombment by means of their fluid, active form of inquiry. Reconsidering the static nature of the archive allows examination of specific constellations  of information—spontaneous networks uncovered in the process of information accretion.

The article deals with a new comprehensive approach to cross-cultural investigations based on the Lacuna theory as the research methodology. Multicomponent research identifies and discusses culture-specific concept of business through Hungarian-Vietnamese linguistic and cultural comparison. The research presented contributes to the development of the Lacuna Theory in general, identifies new types of linguistic and cultural lacunas, and discusses the ways of practical application of the results obtained.
