Here artists lead to Parma or Ferrara, and mainly Romagna, and are noteworthy for quality, provenance or attribution. In some cases, references to anonymous artists (Maestro dei Magi Campana, Maestro dell'Idillio Wallace) substitute well-known painters (Mazzolino, Nicolò Pisano); however brand-new attributions are rare. An addition to Maestro di Castel Bolognese, a kindred artist if compared to Bagnacavallo senior, could lead to new ideas about Maestro delle Ore Barbazza

Foreign painters active for Bologna may include those responsible of a Costabili painting, “Madonna della Scimmia”, and of a second painting owned by the same Ferrarese family, representing a “Presentation to the Temple”. What matters is that a 19th century manuscript documents that both arrived from Bologna. Their style has somewhat in common, and dating must be around the year 1500. According to the literature, Garofalo and Mazzolino may be the authors, and Nicolò Pisano has created a similar group. According to the present writer, it is useful to fix a couple of namepieces, such as “Maestro dell’Idillio Wallace” and “Maestro dei Magi Campana”, creating homogeneous groups by anonymous authors.
