OMT

— A summary of results and details of design of a size-reduced orthomode transducer (OMT) operating at X-band with reasonable bandwidth and relatively low manufacturing cost are presented. Simulation results including performance criteria and scattering matrix parameters are provided both in presence and absence of deployed iris and septa. Simulation results show the OMT achieves satisfactory performance without further structural complications. To be integrated with the rest of the antenna feed system under rigorous environmental restrictions, the small-sized OMT will most be welcome by applications that require dual polarization with fabrication cost being an issue of concern.

Para la práctica y desarrollo de esta nueva filosofía de ofertar y operar productos turísticos, se requiere contar con un patrimonio turístico inventariado y potencializado, de facilidades turísticas cuidadosamente implementadas, servicios básicos y una gobernanza efectiva, que el caso del turismo alternativo se debe cubrir un aspecto fundamental que lo diferencia del masivo, que es el contacto directo y personalizado con los pobladores locales.
Son cinco las modalidades que se ofertan alrededor del planeta: Sol y Playa,  Ecoturismo, Turismo Rural, Turismo Urbano y de Aventura, cada uno de ellos con sus particularidades, actividades y tendencias marcadas, que motivan su demanda.
Se debe decir que los productos turísticos en el Turismo Alternativo, consiguen muchas veces a través de su oferta, que el visitante salga de su zona de confort, aventurándose a actividades exóticas, pero siempre respetando el su entorno y la comunidad.

El presente proyecto de investigación tiene como propósito diseñar un circuito turístico integrador para el cantón Ambato en la provincia de Tungurahua, tomando la modalidad del Turismo de Intereses Especiales, propuesta por la Organización Mundial del Turismo (OMT). La intención se enmarca en los numerosos esfuerzos que realiza el Estado por incorporar la actividad turística como alternativa económica de desarrollo y sustentabilidad para la riqueza patrimonial nacional.
Los aportes realizados figuran desde la innovación de la propuesta, un modelo de sistema turístico, una metodología de diseño para circuitos turísticos y la definición de indicadores en base a una fusión del mix de Marketing para los servicios, además, mencionar que contiene un fuerte compendio de información útil sobre el cantón Ambato.

El presente informe complementa estos resultados y ofrece
un acercamiento práctico a la industria de reuniones,
centrándose en las cuestiones relativas al marketing, el
valor añadido de los eventos de negocios, así como en los
ejemplos prácticos y buenas prácticas de las Américas, Asia
y Europa, que confiamos van a ofrecer valiosos ejemplos,
perspectivas y recomendaciones a esta área del turismo en
constante expansión.

La Academia Mexicana de Investigación Turística (AMIT), en tanto la asociación
mexicana más relevante de investigadores agrupados en torno al objetivo
de comprender y fomentar el conocimiento científico del turismo a diferentes
escalas y enfoques, ha identificado múltiples temáticas necesarias de discutir, en
el afán de brindar una plataforma mínima que permita la reflexión académica de
este fenómeno. En este sentido, se reconoce que lo multiescalar es fundamental
en la comprensión del sistema turístico, en tanto que éste se comprende de procesos
globales asociados con otros regionales o locales. Así, los coordinadores
del presente libro, propusieron como eje de discusión lo glocal, ya que es un
término de muy reciente surgimiento y que sugiere coordenadas de discusión
muy interesantes en los nuevos procesos turísticos que se viven a nivel mundial
y, desde luego, en México.
En este sentido, que el turismo sea un evento global puede comprobarse
con solo echar un vistazo a las estadísticas. La Organización Mundial del Turismo
registró, en 2011, 980 millones de turistas internacionales, y cerca de diez
por ciento de la producción económica mundial de ese mismo año provino de
las actividades turísticas. Se estima que para 2020 los turistas internacionales
alcanzarán la cifra de 1,600 millones. No obstante, como señala Salazar en su
artículo “Más allá de la globalización: la glocalización del turismo” (2005)1, el
dato económico es solo uno de los componentes de este proceso que, además,
involucra a la naturaleza y al ser humano, con amplias consecuencias sociales,
políticas, culturales, tecnológicas y educativas.
Por definición, el turismo supone el movimiento de personas, capitales,
mercancías y flujos informáticos, entre muchos otros aspectos, y sus repercusiones
pueden observarse en todos los rincones del planeta.

Social movements and academic sectors gather information on the negative consequences of tourism development. These consequences affect the rights of the local population, and favour global processes such as Climate Change. In light of this situation, numerous voices are calling for a slowdown in the growth of tourism. They are even calling for its degrowth. The strategy of the tourism sector has been to put forward discourses and actions aimed at preventing the application of limitations to its activity. This article focuses on an action promoted by the UNWTO: the aim to turn tourism into a human right. First, the text offers a critical analysis of what this idea is based on and the debate it has generated. It then investigates its motives. The work concludes that by legitimizing tourism as a supposed human right, it would allow the debate to centre on a conflict of rights (the right of the citizen as a tourist against the rights of the citizen as a resident of a territory or as a worker). Because a debate between rights always ends up in stalemate. This way, degrowth proposals in tourism would be neutralized.

This article analyzes the standard of review applied by the ECJ in the Gauweiler case concerning the ECB’s OMT policy. It argues that the ECJ’s focus on rationality and proportionality checks bears great potential for constitutional pluralism in the European Union. Both standards are relatively vague. This allows each actor to use these standards to keep other actors in check. Their particular virtue lies in the fact that they induce self-restraint in other actors because of their vagueness and because all actors have an interest in keeping the Union intact, or at least in avoiding responsibility for causing serious cracks. Questions of hierarchy and the ultimate say can therefore remain undecided. The Federal Constitutional Court pursued exactly this strategy in its Solange judgments and the Honeywell decision. If it continues following this line of reasoning, the OMT case would lead to a more robust form of constitutional pluralism in the EU. Under this framework, the ECB would have the possibility to decide, in the frame of its discretion, whether to participate in a sovereign debt restructuring.

This work addresses a critical analysis of the nature of cosmopolitan order encouraged by the World Tourism Organization. Given the growth of tourism activity and the challenges that it poses, this specialized agency of the United Nations has formally promoted equitable, responsible and sustainable development of tourism. However, the criticism of the principles from which the organization shapes tourism has put the focus on the objectives pursued. The conversion of these principles, included in the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, adopted in 1999, into an international convention, approved in September 2017, presents a new scene that this work outlines from the cosmopolitanism perspective.

The coding sequence of the cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. strain PCC 6803 slr0095 gene was cloned and functionally expressed in Escherichia coli. The corresponding enzyme was classified as a cation-and S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent O-methyltransferase (SynOMT), consistent with considerable amino acid sequence identities to eukaryotic O-methyltrans-ferases (OMTs). The substrate specificity of SynOMT was similar with those of plant and mammalian CCoAOMT-like proteins accepting a variety of hydroxycinnamic acids and flavonoids as substrates. In contrast to the known mammalian and plant enzymes, which exclusively methylate the meta-hy-droxyl position of aromatic di-and trihydroxy systems, Syn-OMT also methylates the para-position of hydroxycinnamic acids like 5-hydroxyferulic and 3,4,5-trihydroxycinnamic acid, resulting in the formation of novel compounds. The x-ray structure of SynOMT indicates that the active site allows for two alternative orientations of the hydroxylated substrates in comparison to the active sites of animal and plant enzymes, consistent with the observed preferred para-methylation and position promiscuity. Lys 3 close to the N terminus of the recombinant protein appears to play a key role in the activity of the enzyme. The possible implications of these results with respect to modifications of precursors of polymers like lignin are discussed.
