One of the teaching evaluation processes at EAC-Cavite is the peer evaluation exercise. In order to improve the quality of teaching and learning, teachers are encouraged to conduct classroom peer observation as a component of the faculty evaluation. The major purpose of this study was to assess and analyze the importance of Peer Evaluation as part of personal improvement and professional development of teachers at EAC-Cavite. Using the qualitative method of research and documentary analysis, this study sought to explore the importance of peer evaluation exercise to improve the teaching and learning process, to critically analyze the participants' teaching practice, and to gain new insights in their own area of expertise from the teacher's performance in the classroom observation as part of professional growth. The researchers discovered some of the best practices of teaching through feedback and it highlights its implications in the TL process. The researchers conclude that peer evaluation is effective and should continuously be implemented in all schools at EAC-Cavite. Finally, the result will be the basis of the administration to enhance and support the teachers' professional development.

Aligning teacher's classroom peer observation with professional development can be considered effective if teachers would actually try to conduct this exercise, collect evidence, and to manage a peer post-conference. The major purpose of this study was to identify the teachers' perceptions and insights on the classroom peer observation at EAC-Cavite. It also aimed at developing appropriate responses to evidence, identifying the advantages and disadvantages of classroom peer observation, and improving the system using the qualitative method of research and an open-ended survey questionnaire approach which was administered randomly to 14 schools or 35 faculty members. The results revealed that there was a positive insights of faculty members in the conduct of classroom peer observation. The results were analyzed using the Kolb's Experiential Learning. As part of its implications to teaching practice, the researchers have adopted the cycle and came up with their own paradigm which is highly recommended to be used and evaluated for professional development and improvement.

This study investigated the impact of technology in presentations on students' perception of quality. Students peer reviewed presentations and two external raters evaluated the presentations based on a rubric adapted from Savory (2009). Students reviewed activity using two assessment instruments: a seven-point attitudinal scale and a 1-5 ranking scale. The study utilized a mixed-methods, embedded QUAN:qual design, where statistical analysis of Pearson Correlation coefficient was paired with qualitative description to discuss the data gathered. The findings showed that students' scores on the attitudinal scale and their holistic rankings correlated positively with the degree of technology employed in the presentations. The greater the integration of technology in a presentation, the higher the peer rating. However, the external raters' evaluations did not generally accord with the student-raters'.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the most efficient ways to apply peer evaluation in writing courses, and a lack of studies on the views of students' experienced difficulties while responding to their peers' papers is the starting point of this paper. For this cause, the case study method was implemented, including an interview conducted with prep-class students (N=37) who attended a writing course for two semesters and a review of literature of related papers written over the past five years that specifically focuses on the ways to develop peer-evaluation skills of students. Both the interview and the relevant previous studies were analyzed through content analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that the challenges that students experienced were because of a lack of ability in language usage and having an avoidant personality, not having clear purposes for evaluation, a lack of ability in dominating the relevant terminology, and having difficulty in finding content and organization related mistakes. Consequently, students need effective training on peer evaluation to enhance their skills beforehand. The suggestions collected thanks to the literature review is expected to be helpful in this respect.

Background and Objective: Peer evaluation has been introduced as a control method and part of nursing quality assurance programs. Peer evaluation is the process by which nurses systematically review, control, and judge the quality of nursing care relative to occupational standards. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of peer evaluation on the quality of nursing reports of evaluated nurses in the surgical wards of Kamali Educational and Medical Center in 2019. Methods: This study is a quasi-experimental interventional study before and after. The research tool is a standard checklist for examining the quality of nursing reports and the study population includes all nurses working in a surgery ward of Kamali Hospital in Karaj with at least two months of experience in this ward. To evaluate the effect of the intervention, the method of registering the evaluated nurses before and after the intervention is evaluated by the researcher. Findings: In this study, 30 nurses (women) participated and 60 checklists were completed by the researcher to review the files registered by the evaluating nurses in surgery ward one, before and after the intervention, and a total of 180 files with standard checklists. The quality of registration in the Cardex and reporting was checked. The results showed that the status of compliance with the principles of reporting (Z = -4.838 Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed): <0.001) as well as the status of compliance with the principles of registration in Cardex and Pharmacy Card (Z = -4.253 Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed)) : <0.001) Improved. Teamwork is an essential skill for undergraduate engineering students, and engineering instructors often form teams in the classrooms. However, many factors can affect the effectiveness of teamwork. One factor that could affect the result of teaming is the diversity in teams. Although team diversity could increase creativity and innovation in teams, if not managed well, it could also have negative consequences for teams. Of the various forms of diversity, race and gender have received the most attention in the literature, likely because they provide visual cues to teammates. In this study, we conducted a systematized literature review related to the race and gender in teamwork. To do this systematized literature review we followed the procedure suggested by Borrego, Foster, and Froyd [1]. We searched four different databases including Compendex, Scopus, ERIC, and Education Source. We found 224 articles and used 18 articles for this systematized literature review. We found women and minorities can be affected by working in teams by the perception of professors and students, mode of collaboration and communication, leadership style, team formation strategies, and peer evaluation. We also suggested how we can increase the effectiveness of teamwork in diverse teams.

Survey is one of the most widely used methods of investigation into educational systems and practices. While the results from surveys might give insight into what goes on in the educational system, important questions arise: how reliable are the results of surveys in evaluating educational systems and practices? And can the results be used to take high-stakes decisions about teaching and learning? This study examines the reliability of surveys in evaluating teaching by comparing the degree of agreement between mathematics teachers' self-evaluation of their teaching and their peers' evaluation of it. A sample of 31 grade 11 mathematics teachers took part in the study. The result shows that teachers' self-evaluations of their teaching generally did not agree significantly with their peers' evaluations. This finding suggests caution in the use of self and peer evaluations in taking high-stakes decisions on teaching and learning. DOI: 10.5901/mjss.2014.v5n9p370

Generafty, role-taking research has focused on the.development and correlates of role taking in children. To explore role taking,in the relatively oveklooked population of. young adults, a sociometric Instrument, the Peer Role-Taking Questionnaire _(PRTQ), was developed and used to measure perceived role-taXing behaviors. The results were compared to those of a projective role-taking measure, the Role-Taking Task (RTT). The final sample consisted of 78 fraternity and sorority members, who also Completed the Personality Research Form (PRF). Results showed that PRTQ scores correlated with soci,ometric/demographic measures of friendship, cooperation, class year, and group status. In contrast, RTT scores correlated personality measures and college grade point average. Furthermore, the PRTQ and-RTT were not shown to correlate. The findings appear to question the value and purpose of nonecological instruments which propose to measure a social reality. (Author/JAC) * Reproductions supplied...
