The photovoltaic solar panel has an assembly system that can transform only 20% of solar radiation it receives into electrical energy. The remaining 80% is a real problem which lead to rise of temperature and overheating. This factor have a big impact on its performances and its lifespan. In this article it is about to evaluate the performance of a photovoltaic solar panel under infrared source, because infrared radiation is thermal source. The results of our experiment show that, the voltage, the current and the power of the monocrystalline photovoltaic solar panel are affected when expose to infrared radiation. The efficiency is reduced and can’t reach more than 20% of the efficiency of the panel under direct solar radiation. The temperature of the panel increases very quickly and can reaches 45°C on its surface for an exposure of 1h30min.
