Relational theory starts from an understanding of human selves as relational. This theory informs some significant current developments in the areas of philosophy, ethics and legal theory that re-envision key concepts including autonomy, equality, rights, justice, memory, trust, judgment and identity. In this paper we introduce relational theory and begin to explore some of its implications for health law and policy. In doing so, we hope to show the relevance of each field to the other and to persuade those interested in health law and policy to take up the challenge to pursue the transformative potential of relational theory through their work.

Inspired by the analysis developed in the article “Coming of Age in a Warming World: The Charter’s Section 15 Equality Guarantee and Youth-Led Climate Litigation,” by Nathalie Chalifour, Jessica Earle, and Laura Macintyre, this commentary explores the concept of intergenerational environmental justice in the climate crisis. Our central contribution is to advance a relational conception of intergenerational environmental justice, which we argue can overcome some common objections to thinking about justice and rights in “generational” terms. This analysis supports climate litigation efforts on Charter grounds, best conceived in our view as discrimination against young and future generations. Yet it also highlights the need to advance intergenerational environmental justice outside of a narrow constitutional focus and, hence, puts forward various institutional, legislative, and deliberative mechanisms designed to uphold long-term interests in environmental governance processes.

This paper presents a method that allows comparison of the quality of different DBMS systems and implemented in these systems data models. The proposed working model is a subset of quality characteristics of quality models defined in ISO / IEC 25010: 2011 (Systems and software engineering – Systems and software Quality Requirements and Evaluation (SQUARE) – System and software quality models). The whole is illustrated by an example of the application of the presented method.

The relationship of “Judeo-Christian” and Muslim civilizations is like that of amnesic siblings: both have trouble remembering the Self’s kinship with the Other. Memories of their shared Abrahamic parentage appear to be lost in a foggy haze; yet, they persist in an old sibling rivalry. Ironically, each imagines the Other to be alien in values, even though Judaism, Christianity, and Islam share a fundamentally core vision about humanity’s relationship with God and about the necessity of universal ethics to order human relationships. There are significant differences between the Abrahamic traditions in theology and ritual practice; however, no other three religions form so intimate a narrative relationship that runs from the Old Testament to the New Testament and from the Bible to the Qur’an.

The relational and intersubjective aspects of Integrative psychotherapy are essential components for achieving the goal of integration. The set of relational methods outlined in Integrative Psychotherapy, inquiry, attunement and involvement, provide a comprehensive guide for intersubjective treatment. Relational methods are important tools to help people with early relational failures, especially where those failures interfere with the development of intersubjective relating (Stern, 1985). This article focuses on three relational levels in an intersubjective context which contribute to integration: conscious verbal relating, non-verbal relating and non-linguistic or non-symbolized aspects of experience that are present in relationships.
