The Grand Tour in Italy had in Rome one of the best destinations for
the mid-european travellers, attracted by the important historicalartistical
and archeological heritage. The appeal of the Urbs puts in
second floor the great presence of the heritage in his sorroundings.
To cense and to show that to the travellers, William Gell and Antonio
Nibby got some knowing expedition in the Campagna romana,
producing a map and a text where they highligthed and described
the places and their heritage. By those scanned documents has been
realized a geoportal and a webgis to spread all the information kept
into the historical-cartographical source by a textual and a spatial
reading.
