Roundels

Research of issue, primarily leading to knowledge of origins, creation process and the individual development phases of Neolithic ditch structures, whether in the form of the first larger profane enclosures or somewhat younger “sacral”, respectively religious objects – roundels is a specific partial theme, that deserves a special attention. One of the important steps of our research is therefore trying to capture and briefly describe selected cultural-time horizons with the most substantial construction – technical architectural changes, manifesting in partial or total adjustments of the ground plan, morphology and the use of this objects (layout – architectonics – function) during the historical progress. All of this is likely as a result of the changes as in the structure of the most Neolithic settlements and also in cultural and social issues within Neolithic collectives as such. In this context and on the example of archaeologically investigated of early and middle neolith defensive ditch enclosures was possible exactly identify the individual dispositive and architectural modernizing fortification changes in space and time, with the evident aim of capturing its gradual transformation from the original, primary fortification-enclosing settlement housing systems to the specific multifunctional, socio-economic and informational circular ditch areas „Genius Loci“ – roundel with a strictly religious or so socio-cult function.

Výskum problematiky, primárne smerujúci k poznaniu pôvodu, procesu vzniku a jednotlivých vývojových fáz neolitických priekopových štruktúr, či už v podobe prvých rozsiahlejších profánnych ohradení alebo o niečo mladších „sakrálií“ typu – rondel, je špecifickou parciálnou témou, ktorá si zaslúži osobitnú pozornosť. Jedným z dôležitých krokov nášho bádania je preto snaha zachytiť a stručne popísať vybrané kultúrno-časové horizonty s tými najzásadnejšími stavebno-technickými architektonickými zmenami, prejavujúcimi sa v čiastočných, resp. celkových úpravách pôdorysu, morfológie a využitia daných objektov (dispozícia – architektonika – funkcia) počas dejinného vývoja, čo malo za následok zmeny ako v štruktúre väčšiny neolitických sídlisk, tak v kultúrno-spoločenských otázkach v rámci neolitických kolektívov ako takých. V tomto kontexte a na príklade archeologicky preskúmaných defenzívnych priekopových ohradení starého a stredného neolitu bolo možné exaktne vypozorovať jednotlivé dispozičné a architektonické modernizačné premeny daných fortifikácii v priestore a čase s cieľom zachytenia ich postupnej transformácie od pôvodných primárne opevňovaco-ohradzovacích celosídliskových priekopových systémov, k osobitým multifunkčným, sociálno-ekonomicko-informačným priekopovým areálom – rondelom so striktne religióznou alebo tiež sociokultovou funkciou.
