SSCI

In many Asia TEFL contexts, emphasis in academic promotions and tenure is placed on journals listed in Scopus and the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). However, these indexing services do not offer a subcategory specific to second/foreign language (L2) research and practice, apart from rather generic categories such as linguistics and education. To address this gap, this brief report attempts to construct a comprehensive list of L2 Scopus- and SSCI-indexed journals. In this article, we present this list and the two-stage process we followed to obtain it.

How are the environmental education articles published in peer-reviewed SSCI journals in Turkey in terms of content and methods? How do these SSCI journals differ in the content and methods of publications?
In line with these problems, the following sub-problems were formulated:
* How are environmental education articles published in SSCI journals in Turkey distributed in terms of content and methods (year of publication, language of publication, number of authors, country of authors, number of keywords, educational level of the sample, sample size, sampling method, developer(s) of data collection instruments, type of data collection instruments, data analysis methods, research methods, and research design)?
* How do the SSCI journals in Turkey differ in the content and methods of publications (year of publication, language of publication, number of authors, country of authors, number of keywords, educational level of the sample, sample size, sampling methods, developer(s) of data collection instruments, type of data collection instruments, data analysis methods, research methods, and research design)?

Jedne od glavnih citatnih baza podataka (Citation DataBases - CDB) u svetu su: SCI-E u oblasti prirodnih i primenjenih naučnih disciplina, SSCI u oblasti socijalnih naučnih disciplina i A&HCI u oblasti umetnosti i humanitarnih naučnih disciplina. Za 2015. godinu, unutar SCI-E sve naučne oblasti prirodnih i primenjenih naučnih disciplina razvrstane su u 177 kategorija, a unutar SSCI sve naučne oblasti socijalnih naučnih disciplina razvrstane su u 57 kategorija. U radu je učinjen pokušaj da se objasne citatne baze podataka (CDB), da se opišu načini za određivanje impakt faktora časopisa (Journal Impact Factor - JIF) i da se nabroje ostali bibliometrijski indikatori za ocenu časopisa, država, regiona, univerziteta, fakulteta, departmana i pojedinaca. Nadalje, data je analiza trenda broja časopisa (NoJ) za pet različitih kategorija: "Economics"/ "Ekonomija", "Law"/ "Pravo", "Psychiatry" / "Psihijatrija", "Psychology, Experimental" / "Psihologija, eksperimentalna" i "Social Work"/ "Socijalni rad" unutar SSCI za period 1995-2015. Najveće povećanje broja naučnih časopisa za period 1995-2015. za navedenih pet kategorija unutar SSCI imala je, takođe, kategorija "Economics" / "Ekonomija", sa indeksom kumulativnog rasta (CGI) od 242,96%.

This article explores the phenomenon of so-called “Cefur” subculture in Slovenia. Cefur subculture is formed by mostly second-generation descendants of immigrants who moved to Slovenia from the other former Yugoslavian republics. In this, we can find associations with other subcultures whose members are later generations of immigrant parents such as German Turks. Some of these descendants are going through an identity crisis which is one of the driving forces that contributed to the formation of this subculture. To better understand the emergence of Cefur subculture and its specifications, we must know the historical, cultural and socio-economical background of the area, as well as psychology of immigration and second generation youth. This is what this article aims to display. It will answer the question of what is the “Cefur” phenomenon, and how it came to exist.

The purpose and novlty of the paper is to present arguments for and against the use of the Impact Factor (IF)
in a rapidly changing digital world. The paper discusses the calculation of IF, as well as the pros and cons of IF. Editorial
policies that affect IF are examined, and the merits of open access online publishing are presented. Scientific quality and
the IF dilemma are analysed, and alternative measures of impact and quality are evaluated. The San Francisco
declaration on research assessment is also discussed.
