Özet: Bu çalışmada günümüzde dünya genelinde yaygın olarak kullanılan açık kaynak kodlu öğrenme yönetim sistemi " Sakai " hakkında bilgi verilecektir. Çalışmada literatür taraması yönteminden ve yazarların Sakai deneyimlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda Sakai'nin gelişim süreci, bünyesinde standart olarak barındırdığı araçlar, kurulum süreci ve örnek uygulamalar üzerinde durulacaktır. Abstract: In this study, free and open source learning management system Sakai, which has a common usage overall the world, is briefly introduced. Historical background of Sakai, tools that sakai consists of, set up process and case studies are given. This study mainly based on authors' Sakai experiences, and literature review method is also used.

Integration of technology (IT) into the university classrooms has become a significant part of student- centred education. An important aspect of student’s engagement in educational research is the ability to effectively communicate one student's ideas to groups or to communities who may have different background knowledge. To gain valuable work experience in this kind of teaching, the students in this interaction will also participate in an interconnect-group nucleus hosted in Danubius Online and e-Danubius platform. Students are given the opportunity to interact between them, with teachers and also with the members of a different education course and to also answer student’s questions in the other course about how technology can support teaching and learning

The purpose of this study is to investigate students' perspectives about using Sakai CLE as learning environment. For this study, UFND courses at Yasar University were used to investigate users’ feelings, opinions, expectations, acceptance, pleasure and deeper emotions regarding their experience.
The focus of this study is the perspective of the student who take UFND courses at Yasar University. Course materials were used individually by students according to the syllabus given. Following the completion of every course unit, a questionnaire was given to obtain their impressions. Questionnaire taken by 2725 students from a sufficiently diverse range of faculties. The findings of the questionnaire is to address current issues that students experience with the online learning environment Sakai CLE, and recommendation for improvement of environment.

Özet: Bu çalışma Sakai öğrenme ortamında harmanlanmış olarak yürütülmüş bir dersin geliştirilmesi ve işlenişiyle ilgili araştırmacının deneyimlerini içermektedir. Eskişehir Osmangazi Üniversitesi, Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi Bölümünde örgün olarak verilmekte olan “Eğitim Yazılımları” dersi, 2010-2011 akademik dönemi için Sakai öğrenme ortamına taşınarak ders seviyesinde harmanlanmış olarak 48 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada tercih edilen harmanlanmış eğitim ortamı, yüz yüze yürütülmekte olan bir dersin çevrimiçi etkinliklerle desteklenerek yeniden tasarlanması ve yürütülmesi süreçlerinden bahsedilmektedir.
