The contribution focuses on the study of reaping and harvesting tools which are classified as agricultural tools. Defined time frame is the period from the 8th to the 12th century. The area of interest has been geographically defined as North-western Slovakia. The source material consists of various specimens of sickles, reaping hooks and short scythes stored in the archaeological collections of the Považské Museum in Žilina. The main objective of the contribution is a typological classification of the artefacts as well as the interpretation of the examined objects’ characteristics with regard to their find’s environment.
