This paper focuses on a special construction found in Istro-Romanian, the direct (matrix) wh-interrogative clause with a pronominal subject placed between the wh-word and the verb. After briefly presenting the impressive degree of variation found in Romance with respect to this pattern, attention is paid to the Istro-Romanian data, which are submitted to syntactic analysis.
