The purpose of this study was to compare key magnitude and timing parameters of the kinematic sequence between amateur recreational players (amateurs) and PGA touring professionals (pros). It was hypothesized that the key magnitude parameters would be significantly higher in the pros than the amateurs, and that the key timing parameters would be significantly different between the two groups. A representative swing from each of 19 amateurs and 19 pros was captured using three-dimensional (3D) motion analysis techniques. Eighteen key kinematic sequence performance variables that occur during the downswing were computed from the data. Student t-test’s were used to compare the group means for each parameter with an experiment-wise level of significance set at p<0.2, and a corresponding test-wise significance of p<0.011.   Parçalanmanın, çoğullaşmanın olduğu 21. yüzyılda, özellikle farklı türlerden müziklerin bir arada icra edilişi, yorumlanışı ve birbirleriyle etkileşimini analiz etmek için Türk Makam Müziğinin önemli bir müzik aleti ve aslında bir müzik aletinden çok daha fazla anlamı olan neyle cazı birleştiren Swing À La Turc’u seçtik. Daha önceleri de gittiğimiz, tanıdık ve cazın en iyi icra edilen yerlerinden biri olan Nardis’te, aynı anlamda caz emekçisi Önder Focan ve arkadaşlarının performansını, çalgıların birbiriyle iletişimini ve üretimlerini görmek amacıyla bu konseri tercih ettik.

We construct a model of redistributive politics where the central government is opportunistic and uses its discretion to make transfers to state governments on the basis of political considerations. These considerations are the alignment between the incumbent parties at the central and state levels and whether a state is a swing state or not. A testable prediction from the model is that a state that is both swing and aligned with the central government is especially likely to receive higher transfers.

Movement control responsible for generation of maximal hand velocity was studied on the example of horizontal arm swing that is a component of various sports activities. The movement was performed with the nondominant arm in similarity with the baseball bat swing. The task was to generate maximum hand velocity at a target. The movement included trunk long-axis rotation and horizontal shoulder and elbow extension. Kinematics and torque analyses were performed to study the organization of fastest movements and to compare trials representing the best and worst performance in each subject. Results revealed complex control strategy, with the trunk, shoulder, and elbow playing unique roles in generation of maximal hand velocity. The trunk provided a crucial contribution, directly, rotating the entire arm, and indirectly, exerting interaction torque that caused swift elbow extension.
