Evaluating Turkish Space Policy: Outcome and Impact, Institute of International, European and Defense Analyses, University of Macedonia .
This paper presents the cycle of Turkey's Public Space Policy. It examines the recognition of space in the governmental agenda, the policy formulation and decision making, its main actors and its implementation in a space program. It  describes the existing satellite programs as well as the next steps that are planned in various domain of space. It will then try to make an evaluation of the outcomes of the Turkish Space Policy and its impact.

Approximately 4000 human beings experience a traumatic brain injury each day in the United States ranging in severity from mild to fatal. Improvements in initial management, surgical treatment, and neurointensive care have resulted in a better prognosis for traumatic brain injury patients but, to date, there is no available pharmaceutical treatment with proven efficacy, and prevention is the major protective strategy. Many patients are left with disabling changes in cognition, motor function, and personality. Over the past two decades, a number of experimental laboratories have attempted to develop novel and innovative ways to replicate, in animal models, the different aspects of this heterogenous clinical paradigm to better understand and treat patients after traumatic brain injury. Although several clinically-relevant but different experimental models have been developed to reproduce specific characteristics of human traumatic brain injury, its heterogeneity does not allow one single model to reproduce the entire spectrum of events that may occur. The use of these models has resulted in an increased understanding of the pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury, including changes in molecular and cellular pathways and neurobehavioral outcomes. This review provides an up-to-date and critical analysis of the existing models of traumatic brain injury with a view toward guiding and improving future research endeavors.

In this short introductory article to the thematic volume of "TAI CULTURE Interdisciplinary Tai Studies Series" on the Tai Ahom in Assam, I try to summarize my impressions from my 4 visits to the people of Assam in the last 8 years and to show which findings I received from the comparison with other Tai peoples in SE Asia and Southern China.
In the Appendix, I provide my ideas on the Tai Ahom Kings' titles and names.

A study on postpartum dairy cows was done to evaluate the effect of using progesterone intravaginal device (CIDR) to synchronize return to oestrus of previously timed inseminated (TAI) cows and to evaluate embryo survival and pregnancy rate in the return to oestrus cows. All cows were subjected to TAI program. On Day 14 after AI, cows were assigned randomly into two groups: treated group (CTAI; n=126) and control group (TAI; n=172). Every cow in the CTAI group received CIDR device for 7 days. Cows were observed for oestrus after CIDR removal in the first period (Days 21-28). Cows, which did not show oestrus, were retreated with CIDR on Day 28 for 7 days and they were observed for oestrus after CIDR removal in the second period (Days 35-42). Pregnancy was diagnosed on Days 28, 45 and 90 after AI. Two treatment groups of postpartum Friesian cows (n =276) were synchronized for estrus starting on d 10 of the estrous cycle. GPG: GnRH-PGFB2-BGnRH and timed AI, GPE: GnRH-PGFB2B-EB and AI at detected estrus. Pregnancy rates for first AI at d 28 (46.7 ± 4.4 and 48.4 ± 4.9%), at d 45 post-AI (34.7 ± 4.2 and 34.1 ± 4.7%) and the cumulative (87.3 ± 2.3 and 86.5 ± 3.3 %) for GPG and GPE cows, respectively, did not differ between the two treatments. Whereas pregnancy rates to the first AI for primiparous and multiparous cows (38.8 ± 4.8 and 24.1 ± 4.3%, respectively) were significantly different (P < 0.02). Meanwhile, the cumulative pregnancy rates (87.6 ± 2.4 and 85.5 ± 3.8% for primiparous and multiparous, respectively) were not different. No differences were observed in days open for pregnant cows between GPG and GPE cows (85.2 ± 3.4 and 87.2 ± 3.8 d, respectively) and between primiparous and multiparous cows (84.9 ± 2.7 and 87.4 ± 4.3 d, respectively).
