Publisher's summary
"You will not sleep until you are finished with AGENT ZERO. A superb job creating a set of characters who are fully developed and very much enjoyable. The description of the action scenes transport us into a reality that is almost like sitting in a movie theater with surround sound and 3D (It would make an incredible Hollywood movie). I can hardly wait for the sequel." (Roberto Mattos, Books and Movie Reviews)
An Agent Zero Short Story is a 6,000 word original short story that is a must-listen complement to the number one best-selling Agent Zero Spy Thriller series, which begins with Agent Zero (Book 1), a free download with nearly 300 five-star reviews. It also serves as a standalone story and also as a great introduction for newcomers to the world of Agent Zero.
This original short story takes us back in time to show us how it all began. On a whirlwind, action-packed thriller ride through Italy, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, it shows us the beginning of CIA operative Agent Zero's career - and brings us up to the fateful moment when his memory came to be lost.
The Agent Zero spy thriller series takes us on an action thriller across Europe as presumed-CIA operative Kent Steele (AKA Agent Zero), hunted by terrorists, by the CIA, and by his own identity, must solve the mystery of who is after him, of the terrorists' pending target - and of the beautiful woman he keeps seeing in his mind. Kent Steele, 38, a brilliant professor of European History at Columbia University, lives a quiet life in a New York suburb with his two teenage daughters. All that changes when late one night he gets a knock on his door and is abducted by three terrorists - and finds himself flown across the ocean to be interrogated in a basement in Paris. They are convinced that Kent is the most lethal spy the CIA has ever known. He is convinced they have the wrong man. Do they? With a conspiracy around him, adversaries as smart as he is, and an assassin on his tail, the wild game of cat and mouse leads Kent on a perilous road - one that may lead back to Langley - and to a shocking discovery of his own identity.
The Agent Zero series comprise a series of unputdownable espionage thrillers that will keep you listening into the night.
Also available is Jack Mars' number one best-selling Luke Stone Thriller series (seven books), which begins with Any Means Necessary (Book 1), a free download with over 800 five-star reviews!

Story
In Any Means Necessary, nuclear waste is stolen by jihadists in the middle of the night from an unguarded New York City hospital. The police, in a frantic race against time, call in the FBI. Luke Stone, head of an elite, secretive, department within the FBI, is the only man they can turn to. Luke realizes right away that the terrorists’ aim is to create a dirty bomb, that they seek a high-value target, and that they will hit it within 48 hours. A cat and mouse chase follows, pitting the world’s most savvy government agents versus its most sophisticated terrorists. As Agent Stone peels back layer after layer, he soon realizes he is up against a vast conspiracy, and that the target is even more high value than he could have imagined—leading all the way to the President of the United States. In Oath of Office, a biological agent is stolen from a biocontainment lab. Weaponized, it could kill millions, and a desperate national hunt ensues to catch the terrorists before it is too late. Luke Stone, head of an elite FBI department, with his own family still in jeopardy, has vowed to walk away—but when the new President, barely sworn in, calls him, he can’t turn his back on her.

Story
With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.

Story
Over the past two decades, Nick Horrigan has built a quiet, safe life for himself, living as much under the radar as possible. But all of that shatters when, in the middle of the night, a SWAT team bursts into his apartment, grabs him and drags him to a waiting helicopter. A terrorist - someone Nick has never heard of - has seized control of a nuclear reactor, threatening to blow it up. And the only person he’ll talk to is Nick, promising to tell Nick the truth behind the events that shattered his life twenty years ago.

Meh
Maybe I am overly picky But this story lacked imagination. I am a huge fan of this genre so I might be comparing it unfairly to many other authors I've read.

Superb 43 minute short story
Agent Zero/Kent Steele is being sought for elimination by the CIA; actually by his own team. He is caught and executed the CIA believes. This is an excellent short story with great narration.

A wonderful introduction
To meet agent Zero and to see what lies ahead in this series. What a wonderful way to introduce his character to me. Cheers.

Great characters
Ok, I’m hooked. Had a couple Agent Zero books in my library for a while because freebies that sounded interesting. Kinda sorry I waited so long to start the series. This is a great short story that tells about how Zero went rogue then gave up his memories of CIA to go home to his children and avoid assassination.
Having just started the series, this is a great hook. I have no idea how thorough this device worked. I loved the pace of this story and can’t wait to dive into the full novels now. It’s been a good bit since I’ve read a book in this genre. Most are just dry and fail to hold my interest. If the rest of the series is as good as this, then I’ve finally found a new favorite author.

Not a new story. If a fan save your $
This short story is good only if you haven’t read or listened to the rest of the grey man novels already. It is a condensed backstory of his efforts to kill Race after his wife’s murder and the memory blocking chip.
Most likely written as the basis for a more recent full novel expanding upon the same events and adventures but now being sold as if something new. I enjoyed the narration but was left feeling exploited

Weird
Perhaps this short story will make more sense after reading Book 1. I certainly hope so!

Simplistic, Predictable, and Cliche
I love spy thrillers but they have to be somewhat believable and this isn't. Boring and character copied from thousands of others so nothing really original either.

Not engaging
too much of a cookie cutter spy/action novel. this short story didn't make me want to read the full book.
