It was a spacious unit too. Toiletries provided as well. Cupboard had space to put out suitcases out of the way. All the small details mean a lot. Was good to have easy access to the airport and not having to take multiple trains.

This was my third time visiting Fukuoka.
This was my third time visiting Fukuoka. Fukuoka is beautiful and worth visiting. But like other places in Japan, too many foreign tourists also have caused increasing number of unpleasant incidents during my travel, this is a dilemma for Japan (not just Fukuoka) ---- people are attracted to Japan because Japan is super clean and Japanese society is super disciplined and orderly, but most foreign tourists (both western and others) have grown up and been used to a very different environment in which talking loudly and littering is a norm (including most western countries today), and some of them do not adjust and behave when they are in Japan...Japan should learn from Singapore and impose heavy fine and punishment for foreign tourists who do not respect others ...

Fukuoka is an incredibly charming city with so much to offer! We loved how it combines the energy of Tokyo with the warmth of Osaka, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere. Exploring the old towns in Kyushu was a highlight, where we truly felt the essence of Japan’s traditional charm. Skiing was an unexpected treat, and the perfect winter weather made the experience even more enjoyable, especially coming from a tropical country. Fukuoka is a delightful destination with activities for everyone, and we can’t wait to visit again!

The diversity of Hakata Ramen is amazing.
The diversity of Hakata Ramen is amazing. They are different versions and they were all good. The most amazing was the simple Hakata Ramen at only 550 yen run by 8 foreigners near the wharf that is so popular in the Nakasu district. The ramen is ready in 2 minutes. The other must try are the Yatai food stalls. We were able to try only one and the mentaiko here was the best compared to the restaurants we tried. Again this was in the Nakasu district. The beef cutlet restaurant Gyukatsu Motomura where you cooked your own cutlet was great To avoid the long lines, you need to go off hours to all of these popular places.

The city is big and had few things to sight see, the local food areas with food stalls were interesting to walk around and sample the local food. We had a 10 day stay in Kyushu and flew in and out of Fukuoka. So we did not sight see there. We want to go back, but we would not fly into Fukuoka again. Since we had a Kyushu rail pass, we will likely fly in and out of Kumamoto, as it is more central.

Fukuoka is such an awesome city to visit! There are many great restaurants and ramen places everywhere, and the prices aren’t high at all. If you’re into coffee, there are so many cool coffee shops to check out too. The people here are very nice and always helpful, which makes everything so much easier. Plus, all the tourist spots are really easy to get to, so getting around is no problem at all.

The hotel location (just outside Hakata Station - Chikushi Exit) was excellent for this December 2024 trip! The hotel was about a 15-minute taxi ride from Fukuoka Airport (about 2,000 yen or $14). Hakata Station was about a minute walk from the hotel. The hotel cost was under $100 per night. The buffet breakfast was 2,300 yen per person. Our favorite yakiniku restaurant was about a 3-minute walk from our hotel.

Location was ideal, just about 200 meters from Gion subway station (easy access to/from Fukuoka Airport), plus there is a Family Mart and Max Value within very close proximity. Walking to Hakata and Tenjin is also possible. The room was spacious (by Japanese standards)and very comfortable. I had a restful night here. The bed/mattress/pillows were just the right firmness, offering ideal comfort.
