Beautiful property in a very authentic place. The owner left us lots of treats and surprise since we were celebrating a birthday. This does not go un noticed and made such an impression. He explained everything about the town and the next town nearby, offers to help with reservations for dinner, and gives you all info needed in a very organized way.
The futon was the most comfortable ive had so far and the duvet is amazing. Everything is of high quality. I loved the pajamas and all the little extra amenities that makes it feel like a hotel. He even leaves bath salts for soaking. I was able to check in slightly early which was very nice too ..
Dinner recommendations were great, and the bakery nearby has the best mochi i have tried so far
Everything was perfect and i highly recommend.

We really loved the property. The train track was right behind us but it only runs once every hour, and we didn't get bothered by it. The property was clean, and stocked with what you need.

If I could I would go on retreat at Tai and his mother’s place
So beautiful, welcoming, inspiring, interesting, peaceful and comfortable.
Two historic wood buildings with big beams and views looking out over fields to mountains in the distance. You can rest your eyes on a lovely rock garden as you eat breakfast.
The breakfast prepared by Tai’s mother was exquisite. I had the Japanese breakfast of many varied delicate dishes, and my husband had the Western breakfast, also inspired.
The main building has a wonderful large sitting room with fireplace. We stayed in a beautiful separate old building with our own kitchen and living room upstairs. This was a dreamy wooden building with wood craftmanship down to the details of bathroom lock and counters; there is a gorgeous live edge low dining table. There was comfortable seating both low and high. An open plan with living room dining area and full kitchen. The apartment was SPacious with its own entryway.
Tai was more than hospitable- kind, helpful and attentive. He helped us find the right onsen and restaurants. Pamphlets he had helped us get to a great photography show in the area.
This city is a little gem of Japanese culture. A great size to walk the quaint streets and talk with shopkeepers. We happened on a temple shrine being carried through the streets and a group of men building a structure to carry drums for the upcoming Hilda Festival.
