???
This book broke my heart ?
He knew better! He knew!
This is the story of a rising musician and how a popular artist took advantage of her, raped her, tortured her and kept her from her family.
Unfortunate how this happens to women all over the world. Never in the same way but consistently the same outcome.
5⭐️ read and utter perfection!

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/54.5 /5 All the feels! I must preface this by saying I've worked with sexual assault and DV survivors for 14 years. The author did a terrific job of weaving the subtle ways the grooming and manipulation and abuse escalated. The portrayal of how victim's reports are recieved felt genuine and sadly true to life. Masterfully written but not an easy-light read but an important topic that needs for light shone upon it!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was so difficult to read sometimes, but it is such an important story that every one you should. The more we educate ourselves, the fewer Black women will have to suffer from abusive men in power.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book reveals the multi-layered and multifaceted brokenness and depravity of power and wealth. Tiffany Jacksson has consistently peeled back the curtain on topics that commonly get swept under the rug in her books. 5 star read
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An amazing read and well illustrated. Definitely a work of art.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Had to read this book for a 12th grade reading assignment and I can proudly say Im obsessed! As someone who is a victim to grown “mens” evil behavior and abuse as a young girl, this book shows respectfully and honestly how hard and traumatizing it is. And the plot twists at the end ? simply amazing!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I enjoyed the story and I love that it highlights some very important topics. There were moments that captured my full attention and reeled me in. It turns out to not be as predictable as it seemed in the beginning. For me, there was a lack of character development which prevented me from connecting with the protagonist.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book has well captured the feeling and experiences of women who have been assaulted. I can’t believe it was just fiction, good job! I recommend it to all young and older women alike, anyone can be a victim.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book will leave an impression on you, like it did on me
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It's is a interesting book that gives you a good idea of what it must have been for the ladies who have been held captive by R Kelly
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The author did a wonderful job of character development amongst all of the characters. Her ability to give an accurate depiction of the innocence of the main character made the story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Heartbreaking, amazing, so raw and important for everyone to read
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Literally in love with the voice of the narrator. Amazed at how many different ranges she has and how she transforms each character. This book gave me current day in the news feels which I struggled with while listening, as I felt it took away some of the creativity in the writings. However Tiffany did not disappoint as she adds loads of twists that keep you holding on.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of my favourite YA books. Second time reading it and I love it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Read it, then listened to it. Even better the second time around. The actor is fantastic, she neva haffi do the lawyer man suh with the lisp lol but it was good.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great read but tough to get through. The up side is many girls have gone through this and they are not alone.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Engaging read to see how innocent naïveté get methodically caught up in manipulation and control. As well as black girls plight on being heard. Highly recommend!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5My heart went out to Enchanted. I remember being in my early teens and getting unwanted attention from grown men. It made me super uncomfortable most of the time. Now what if that same type of attention came from an artist I admired? I probably would’ve entertained it just like Enchanted did because I was “mature” for my age.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was so engaging. I was obsessed from the beginning. This book had me all in my feelings.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A difficult book to get through. My heart is heavy! Please check up on trigger warnings and most importantly BELIEVE WOMEN!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A very necessary read! I’m really glad that I got a chance to read this book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely incredible. It was heartbreaking and so difficult to read at times but it has such an important message that I believe everyone should educate themselves on. Read. This. Book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I story that needs to be heard. Address sexual exploitation and mental health issues.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow. And the narrator was incredible. What a story. ??
