About this audiobook
Set during the time of the New York Times bestseller Powerless, fan favorite Adena gets a story all her own in this captivating novella as she attempts to survive on the streets of Loot…and falls for a mysterious—and dangerous—Elite.
Adena and Paedyn have always been inseparable. Fate brought them together when they were young, but friendship ensured they would always protect each other and the home they built in the slums of Loot. But now Paedyn—an Ordinary—has been selected for the Purging Trials, which means almost certain death.
Now alone in Loot, Adena must fend for herself. After attempting to steal, she’s rescued by a mysterious man from the market. Mak’s shadowy past and secretive power set him apart from the other low-level Elites of Loot. And as the pair team up to see their loved ones before the Trials, the quest tests their loyalty, their love, and their lives.
This novella also includes a special extended teaser to Reckless—the exciting sequel to Powerless!

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was just sad. Hearing her ending was heart breaking
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I think narrators definitely have a huge impact on the book. I LOVE the first two. Still thinking about them days later. Can’t wait for the third. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past chapter 5 of this book. Makes me sad because I love the stories.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book ripped out my heart. But it was such a great book. I loved seeing things from Adena’s point of view. I really enjoyed it. And I balled like a baby.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I cried so hard even though i already knew what was going to happen
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Worth the cry. I just wish we had more time with Adena...I think this maybe the saddest read knowing the ending.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Loved loved loved the story
But, not a fan of the narrators for the audiobook - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Different POV Adena and Mic are such cinnamon rolls and love seeing their stories.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Definitely was a good read, was crying at the end
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What in the actual.......I can't just be left here feeling all of this. I need the next book ASAP. These are addicting.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a great opportunity to get to know one of the lesser characters in “Powerless.” Lauren Roberts should teach a class on how to write chemistry between characters!
