      A very sweet and sentimental slow burn romance with well fleshed out interpersonal relationships not just between the hero and heroine but the side characters as well. Would recommend to anyone looking for a comfort listen/read on a rainy day.

      Privateer Lorcan encounters Lady Daphne as she's escaping a dangerous situation. Caught in a storm, they seek shelter at the Grand Palace on the Thames. Posing as a married couple, their initial distrust quickly turns to an irresistible attraction. Can these two people from different worlds find a future together?

      This is an entertaining, deeply emotional novel. It's largely character-driven, yet the plot is well-paced and engaging. It's a steamy, slow-burn story. While the book can be read as a standalone, it's best enjoyed if you read the series in order. All the books in the series are brilliant, with a consistent tone.
