About this audiobook
Thomas and Viv Adler are the envy of their neighbors: attractive, successful, with well-mannered children and a beautifully restored home.
Until one morning, when they wake up to find their porch has been pelted with eggs. It’s a prank, Thomas insists; the work of a few out-of-control kids. But when a smoke bomb is tossed on their front lawn, and their car’s tires are punctured, the family begins to worry.
Surveillance cameras show nothing but grainy images of shadowy figures in hoodies. And the police dismiss the attacks, insisting they’re just the work of bored teenagers. Unable to identify the perpetrators, the Adlers are helpless as the assaults escalate into violence, and worse. And each new violation brings with it a growing fear. Because everyone in the Adler family is keeping a secret—not just from the outside world, but from each other. And secrets can be very dangerous….
“Unsettling and darkly sublime, Robyn Harding deftly explores twisted family dynamics and devastating secrets in suburbia in this stunning novel that will shock readers by the final page” (Christina McDonald, USA TODAY bestselling author of The Night Olivia Fell).

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a mixed bag. Some reviewers found the book boring, with a predictable plot and unlikeable characters. However, others enjoyed the twists and secrets, appreciating the writing style and intense narration. While the ending left some unsatisfied, many found the book engaging and worth a listen. Overall, the book receives a range of reactions, but those who enjoy suspenseful stories with multiple perspectives may find it entertaining.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The family and their plight elicited no sympathy from me. Not one of them had the wherewithal to function in any intelligent manner. The ending? Cheap setup for a sequel novel. Would make a good comic book, I guess.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5It was pretty mediocre. Pretty. Land. I finished it because I hate not knowing the end. Overall pretty boring. Should not be in a suspense or thriller category. Don't recommend.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5That's an idiotic book! Unlikeable characters doing irrational, dumb things and really silly intrigues.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It’s okay. Very easy read but not very satisfying ending. It feels as if it’s set up for a sequel.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I still can’t figure out if this was a mystery or a comedy-
Set in Oregon but the voices/blend with real places/fictional seemed all wrong. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5a bit unexpected twist, the reveal's execution was lackluster imo
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I would have given a 5 star but it just ends without actually telling you who the culprit was or the other one was. Makes no sense to leave it this way totally ruined the book for me.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a good book! It was laid out so well and kept my interest throughout. Narration was great. Highly Recommend
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I enjoyed the twists and secrets and I appreciate how the book was written

I’d been looking forward to reading The Perfect Family since it was launched to roaring reviews. I’m disappointed to say, it didn’t live up to the initial hype, but I’d already bought it, so there was that.
Meet the Adler family, Thomas, a real estate agent; his wife Viv, an interior designer; their twenty-year-old son, Eli; and seventeen-year-old daughter, Tarryn.
Thomas and Viv have built the image of a perfect family; their cars, home, and their children all portray success and perfection. But their perfect image is about to come crashing down.
One morning, they wake up to find their house has been egged. Thomas insists it’s just teenagers. But then the attacks keep escalating: ? at their front door, Thomas’s car tyres are slashed, and someone sets fire to their hedges. The police and neighbours seem unwilling to help and only bring up one major question. Why would someone target the Adlers?
It turns out, the Adlers aren’t so perfect after all. Each family member has a secret dark enough to make them a target for attacks.
Written in multiple POVs from each family member, the story slowly exposes each of their secrets. Each one believes their secret cannot be the reason for the attacks. They are quick to point the finger at one another.
As the story unfolds, bits of information are revealed about each of them.
I enjoyed the slow escalation of the attacks.
I also liked how none of the characters was likeable, but none were outright villains either. The writing also flows easily, which should have made The Perfect Family a quick read.
What I did not like was how anticlimactic everything turned out to be. The secrets were blasé in my opinion. The characters were also stereotypical and had no layers.
The Perfect Family is a suspenseful read, with an interesting premise, and a flat finish. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A little too convoluted and convenient, but I do like this author. Beach read for sure.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another great book! I loved this so much. I could not stop listening. This author is quickly becoming a favorite!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Mixed feelings… it’s gripping but the story gets a bit meh towards the end.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really like this book. Many different people playing the role is a big plus!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I fell asleep and woke up it's just one of those blah blah blahs in really sorry

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another great story. I loved the different narrators! You won’t figure this one out!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Interesting listen.
I wasn’t super surprised at the ending but it was good. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good story, horrible characters and a cliffhanger instead of an ending.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Enjoy the Audio narrator was good kept me wanted to continue was intense to me I felt like it was mystery and wanted to solve the puzzle
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The reading was rather lackluster. The family is very unlikeable. The ending clears up almost nothing and the situations are not realistic.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The writing was fine but the characters were boring. The plot was too convenient and bland. The last line of the book was frustrating and rather dumb. It invalidates the whole story. Lines like that can work and have but not in this.
I kept reading till the end because I kept hoping for, something that I did not get. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I love her books. I think The Arrangement has been the best one so far. This one was not my favorite but definitely entertaining and worth a listen.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved every second of this book, I couldn't stop listening, and what a great ending!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was okay. There were some twists, but I mostly knew what would happen.
