An easy listen. You pick up real quick where most plots are going, but still very fun.

Oh my God, usually I don't go for the cut to black romances. However I enjoyed every moment of this audiobook. It was a wonderful story and great narrator.

Romantic comedy as it should be. The story is cute and laugh out loud funny. It follows the same pattern as most romance novells so if you are emotional you might shed a few tears before the happy ending, I did.
As a non native english speaker i found the accent of the narratior a bit hard in the begining but it got easier and I started to love it.

4.5 stars. Lovely story, likable characters (I personally found Jonathan not that mean or grumpy), Christmas spirit all around. Finally Alexis Hall returns with a enjoyable romance and relatable characters. I really enjoyed this one. The - 0,5 for the narrator that didn't blow my mind.

"The Hobbit" aka Sam is a terrible character and I'd have preferred a re-read of The Hobbit before I listened to 30+ Chapters of him. By the Pizza scene I was done and had to save myself from this awfulness and person attempting to be passed off as caring etc

When store manager Sam is summoned to London by infuriating owner Jonathan, he fears he'll be fired. After hitting his head, Sam fakes amnesia. What begins as a ruse to keep his job soon uncovers Jonathan's softer side as they grow close. But their future rests on one impulsive lie. Does Sam dare to reveal the truth?

This uplifting rom com is so much fun, with quirky characters and a well-paced enemies-to-lovers storyline. The characters are well-developed and feel real despite the over-the-top premise. The audiobook narration is delightful.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Bare with me for a very long monologue about how much I wish everyone in the whole wide world will read this book.

I don´t think Alexis Hall needs introductions but if you don´t know him I will just say that he is the perfect combination between a romance genius and comedic prodigy.

This book kicked down the door to my best reads for 2023 with just its first chapter. I knew It would have been five stars from the very beginning.
And if you are wondering why I knew so little into the book, well, it´s because while I was listening I couldn´t stop smiling.
This book made me genuinely happy. I couldn´t stop giggling and listening and smiling again.

We start the book meeting Samwise ‘Sam’ Becker (his mother was a Lord of the Ring superfan and already with the explenation of the name I was SOLD!!!), the manager for a bed and bath retailer. His branch it’s not the best and his employees are not helping keeping it alive. (all the characters we meet in the shop are hilarious. I loved every single one of them)

Enter Jonathan Forest, the boss and workaholic owner of the retail shop. He is not very happy with Sam´s management skills and invites him from Sheffild to London to show him how it´s done.

And when the two meet they cannot be more different but what happens when after a small incident Sam starts faking amnesia (yes like in the movies) to con Jonathan into keeping the Sheffield branch intact? And what when the frostry Jonathan shows his true colours to Sam?

I hope with all my heart that everyone will read this book because it is a gem.
Furthermore if you love audiobooks this is for you. The voice actor, Will Watt, does an amazing job voicing Sam. I loved his accent and I truly fell in love with his voice.

The way the romance was developed truly amazed me. Sam and Jonathan are two normal men. Each of whom has his life, his problems and his way of dealing with them.
They are good looking guys but they are not super hot or super charming. They start knowing each other and, like in real life, they understand each other every day a little more.

I find this book relatable and absolutely amazing.

I don´t know how many times I can say I loved it, but I truly did. So if you arrived reading my word vomit review up until this point, well go and preorder it! IT´S WORTH IT!!

(if there are spelling mistakes, it´s because I´m writing it very fast, but I will come back to polish it in a while)

Highly Recommend this book is delightful. It's got vibe of While you were Sleeping the movie. The hero lies for a good reason at Christmas, falls in love, finds a family with this crazy family of the romance lead. It's a fun story and it's hilarious

I couldn’t quite believe that I was actually crying in the final chapters. That unique mixture of ridiculously absurdly funny and gut-wrenching, heart-aching sadness is my favorite thing about this author. I had to get through the whole thing in one go, which meant I sacrificed a night of sleep. I think Sam is his most appealing and empathetic character yet, and he is written with such tenderness and depth.

Perfect. As always, Alexis gives us the story we all need to laugh, cry, hope, laugh some more, and enjoy the ride. I could listen to Sam's voice telling me about his life as day. Will Watt does a brilliant job. I think, this is one for always-there-when-you're-down-shelves. Highly recommended .

So fun! Love the brittish humor, the sarkasm and mean jokes. I was in the middle when I was trying to sleep and I had to stop because I couldn't stop laughing. It is a cute love story and you really wish the main character made some smarter choices in his life. I was a bit stressed over all the lying but I liked the way it unfolded.

It's not a real scouse accent, but it's not a bad attempt, if you're not local you might not notice. Great narration for a southerner. One of the funniest books I've read /listened to in a while. The audiobook actually made me laugh, which is rare for books. Completely silly, but a nice story, lots of fun and a real page turner.

I loved this book, it was incredibly funny. I will admit the whole premis of amnesia, I was a bit weary of starting it. But the narrator absolutely sold it in the first few paragraphs, it made the entire book funnier. I can't remember the last book that I laughed so much.
The audiobook was fireworks! It was incredibly funny, the first 5 sentences made me laugh ao much I knew I was in for this rollercoaster. I mean his name is Samwise and he named his cat Gollum. The narrator, Will Patt is pure gold. His voiceovers are extraordibary and made this entire book so much fun and pure comedy.
Also the book is set duting Christmas time and you fall in live with all the characters, the Christmas tree fiasco, the dinner, the lovable family members.
It is fun, with a dash of ridiculousness. I loved it.
