About this audiobook

A man presumed dead is suddenly wanted for murder in this thriller of secrets, lies, and dangerous conspiracies that threaten to cover up the truth.

Three years ago, sports agent Myron Bolitar gave a eulogy at the funeral of his client, renowned basketball coach Greg Downing. Myron and Greg had history: initially as deeply personal rivals, and later as unexpected business associates. Myron made peace and moved on – until now, when twofederal agents walked into his office, demanding to know where Greg Downing is.

According to the agents, Greg is still alive—and has been placed at the scene of a double homicide, making him their main suspect. Shocked, Myron needs answers.

Myron and Win, longtime friends and colleagues, set out to find the truth, but the more they discover about Greg, the more dangerous their world becomes. Secrets, lies, and a murderous conspiracy that stretches back into the past churn at the heart of Harlan Coben's blistering new novel.

Think Twice is an excellent mystery story. The book leads the reader one way only to conclude another. The characters are all believable, as well as the scenes. Five stars were given to this book.

Harlan Coben, don't do this to me. I can't write more for fear of spoilers.

These always follow something of a formula, I think. This was a fast-paced, easy read, although there were a lot of characters and crimes to keep on top of. An appalling attempt at rendering a German phrase (Google translate would have done a better job) and a page or two where the tense kept changing mid-sentence apart, I found this entertaining throughout.

Watching Harlan Coben on Morning Joe introduce his NEW book...I couldn't wait to grab it and whew!!! I can't get enough of Myron and Win although the ending i this oe has me...in tears, worrying??After so many books about these two I KNOW these characters and the entourage around them SO well and it's always fascinating to see what Coben can come up with for them to be involved ---as usual, not a dull page in the book.

Think Twice by Harlan Coben is a 2024 Grand Central publication.

The setup for the twelfth, and long overdue, installment in the series sees Myron reunited with an old nemesis and all the baggage that goes with that, when a serial killer, using the modern technologies that have thwarted this brand of evil, manages to slide under the radar of the FBI- that is until Myron and Win get sucked into the investigation…

This is one of the few series in which I have read every single installment. I think I’d given up on there ever being another installment with both Myron and Win working together again. So, I was thrilled to that we would be blessed with at least one more chapter in the series.

It was very easy to slide back into the series, although it has been, if I have my facts straight, nearly eight years since the last Myron Bolitar release. The banter between Myron and Win was still amusing and strangely comforting, if a bit rusty. All the characters people love the most in this series make an appearance and the nostalgia is often poignant at times as Coben acknowledges the passage of time and the aging factor.

Some events alluded to in the novel transpired in some of the earlier books in this series, and initially, I had to search my memory bank for the details of the long history between these people and Myron. Think, if you will, of a daytime serial that brought an old villain back from the dead and you’ll know how crazy it is to find these characters back in Myron’s life again. Very surreal, I must admit.

Still the story is riveting, dark and twisted, with a few ‘edge of your seat’ moments- and a truly stunning conclusion. It’s good to see Coben return to form here, and so great to hear from these characters again after such a long sabbatical. I do hope we won’t have to wait another eight years to see how Myron, Win, and the gang are faring and hope to see them all back in action soon!

I listened to this book on audio version. The narrator, Steven Weber did a really good job of narrating this book that I would listen to another book that he performed on.

In regard to this book, it was fine. I like Myron and Win but I found myself not as engaged in the cast of characters. Additionally, I felt like the storyline moved a bit slow with not a lot of things happening for long periods of time.

Where it came to how the story was playing out, I kind of figured out where it was leading. So not surprised. For me it was about Myron and Win that helped make this book for me as well as Mr. Weber narrating the audio version.

I always enjoy a Myron Bolitar book, and this did not disappoint. The novel opens with murder, and it is clear that the murderer is framing an innocent person. But, when the FBI gets involved and comes to Myron, it is with shocking news. His former friend and client, Greg Downing, is a suspect, but there is a problem-he is supposedly dead. As Myron and Win investigate, Myron once again has to confront his former lover and mother of his son (and widow of Greg) to get answers.
A shocking and explosive ending to this book, completely surprised by what happened!

I stopped reading Harlan Coben a while back and after starting Think Twice I wondered what prompted my stepping away, but as Myron Bolitar points out “We are our mistakes. Sometimes they are the best part of us.” I forgot how much I enjoyed the characters and the point and counterpoint of the dialog and action. The issues are current, the intrigue is smart and twisted, and I am getting back in the game having enjoyed #12 in the Myron Bolitar series.

It was better than helpful being reintroduced to the characters that I had come to know so well and see them in their new iterations. Hard to put down, lots of curves in the road and not so deft deflections of serious physical harm. Will Myron and Win survive to #13 - and that is a real question that is left unanswered and making me want more. Thanks to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for a copy.

I have read each and every book Harlan Coben has written. His standalones are great - but I have a soft spot for Myron Bolitar and his friend Windsor Horne Lockwood III aka Win. Think Twice partners up the two again.
Things start off with a curious prologue. A man who died three years ago has just left his fingerprints at a crime scene. How can that be? The FBI comes knocking on Myron's door to ask the same question...

The plotting is impeccable and there's no way you're going to suss out the answer to the question of whodunit. There are twists and revelations along the way that change the direction of the investigation many times. The ending is edge of your seat, nail biting good. I loved being along for the ride as Win and Myron stay one step ahead of the FBI - and others. The two of them have each other's back. The dialogue between Win and Myron is short, snappy and a heck of lot of fun to read.

There are a lot of supporting players - some good, some of them not so much. I'm happy to say though, that Esperanza and Big Cyndi are back as well. We also hear from a mystery person in chapters that are chilling.

A satisfying read that I finished far too soon. More please! An easy five stars from this reader.

I like the Myron Bolitar series. The books read a bit like Lincoln Lawyer with a basketball twist. Here Myron's old rival and sort of modern friend died 3 years ago but suddenly his DNA shows up at a murder scene. Huh? It's a twisty turny story about a serial killer that plants DNA to give the police and easy path to a plausible killer. The ending is a surprise, one that I didn't see coming. I'm not sure I liked that ending but regardless, it's a pretty good book.

I received a review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.com.
