s a first-time mom pregnant with my son, I remember being overjoyed when I saw the You are pregnant
sign on the pregnancy test. It was Thanksgiving Day. Just six months prior, I had experienced a miscarriage at five weeks of gestation. I remember not wanting to tell anyone about this pregnancy due to the hurt from my previous pregnancy. Finally, I said to myself, Stephanie, you deserve to be a mom. You deserve to have a family. My boyfriend was just as excited. He later became my fiancé a few months after finding out we were expecting again.
Picking out cute baby clothes, deciding on the nursery's theme, picking out a name, and reading baby books was just the start of it. It was time for us to go to the ultrasound appointment to find out the gender. I remember tears falling down my cheeks as I reclined on the table for the ultrasound. I began to have flashbacks from my previous pregnancy.
