I Am Worship

About this ebook
You see, a lot of times we believe that worship is the slow songs that we sing at church, or the lifting up of our hands or bowing to the floor in reverence to the Lord, and indeed yes, yes, yes, those are subexpressions of worship, but worship encompasses so much more than that; those subexpressions are only a small part of what worship truly is. When God created man, His primary intent was that man would be vessels of worship. Humankind was created to worship God, and everything that Adam and Eve did were expressions of worship before God, because worship was more than what they did, WORSHIP WAS WHO THEY WERE. Journey with me as we explore what worship is and in so doing identify that worship is not just something that we participate in, it is who we are. Say it with me, I Am Worship!

I Am Worship - S. Stacey Taylor-McDonald
DEDICATION
This book is dedicated in loving memory of my darling late father Carlos Taylor. Daddy your passion for God, music, tennis, and people have taught me to love freely, and to be comfortable in whom God has called me to be. I have learned so much from you and what a godly husband and priest should look like. You and mom taught me what true worship looks like by the way you lived. I will always be your little girl. I love you forever. Till we meet again.
To my precious mother Carolyn Taylor. You are my hero and a true epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. You have taught me the strength of worship no matter the season that I find myself in. Your prayers, support, encouragement, and love I will always treasure. Thank you for always supporting and believing in me. I love you always.
To my darling husband and the best graphic designer ever, Pastor Samuel David
McDonald. You are my soul mate. You have shown to me the true strength that lies in a husband and man of God. Thank you for always being there for me, supporting, and cheering me on. I am blessed to be on this journey of life together with you. I love you always and forever.

INTRODUCTION
Oh, what an eventful couple of years it has been! I have been pulled and tugged in every direction, and felt as though I had very little fight left in me. Yet, I was compelled to keep moving forward. To be honest, it felt as though I was continuously in the dental chair having extractions. Okay, okay, I guess I am being a bit dramatic, needless to say the past couple of years have been very intense, but the lessons that I gained from each experience I had to endure, I would not trade for the world. Some of these lessons have led to some deep introspection, and some spiritual spring cleaning.
We collect and hoard so much emotionally that, over time, they cause clutter in our lives. I saw how we could allow so much clutter into our lives that we are prevented from being as effective as we can be. When you have clutter, it is very hard to see clearly, and very easy to miss the things that we really need buried beneath all that mess. The lives that we were created to live are hampered by all this baggage and we fall short of being as productive as we are supposed to be. And though we know that clutter does nothing to help us; we tend to hold on to it. I have learnt the importance of knowing when to let go of the clutter. Through this spring-cleaning season, I have learned to prayerfully pick up
and throw away.
The thing is, we have been created with so many beautiful and extraordinary gifts within us; treasures that throughout the courses of our lives we are to discover, uncover and utilize, not just for ourselves but to benefit humanity. We are all filled with greatness and have so many multifaceted destinies to walk into, showing forth the glory of the one who created us. This should be our focus.
One day the Lord said to me that He loves us so much to the point where He has put a piece of Himself in each of us. Oh boy… I can hear the biblical scholars gearing up to stone me in that statement. But it is biblical. The bible says in Genesis 1:27
So, God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
He then went on to say in both Psalm 82:6 and John 10:34
I have said, 'ye are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High’.
Jesus answered them,
Is it not written in your Law, I have said ye are gods?"
It is clear that God’s DNA is in humanity and we really come to life when we release the clutter, accept His free gift of Salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, and align with His intent for creating us. Come with me for a moment, I want to take you on a little journey that has revolutionized the way I live and how I, in essence, approach and respond to Worship.
PART 1
THE WAY OF WORSHIP
I remembered some years ago we had gone into a very small town to minister. A few months prior, there was a murder that had taken place there that had rocked the town at its core. We had no knowledge that something like that had occurred, but from the moment we crossed the border into the town, there was this unexplainable heaviness in the atmosphere; almost oppressive in nature. You felt sad and weighted down. Every one of us felt it and we were a bit miffed as to why the place was so heavy.
It was not long after we learned from one of the residents of that town about what had taken place, and we quickly realized why the atmosphere was so oppressive. A heinous crime was committed and that foul spirit dominated the atmosphere of a once happy and vibrant town. Hope and healing needed to be restored. We were in the right place at the right time. I cannot tell you what a joy it was being in that town, and witnessing what the Lord did. It was absolutely astounding. Is it not amazing how one incident can create doorways to demonic spirits that come in and try to dominate the atmosphere? As true worshippers, we can go into situations where the atmosphere can be impacted by our presence. We can become transmitters of the glory of God that will transform towns, cities and countries for the kingdom of God.
These are such exciting times. In John 14:12 Jesus said,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these shall He do, because I go unto my Father.
Joel 2:28 says,
"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my
