Hello, and welcome to the course from Scribd Coach Happiness Habits: Five Things You Can Do in Your Everyday Life to Build Lasting Happiness
. I’m Michael Rauscher, and, in this course, I’ll be talking to you about five habits you can build to help achieve your full happiness potential.
Today, we all live in a world where it becomes increasingly difficult to stay happy. We work more and more, trying to make more money to buy ourselves things we want and have that dream life we planned for years ago. Every day at work we receive dozens of emails, messages, and countless tasks. As a result, we always postpone taking the time for ourselves.
But as time passes, we notice that we start feeling less and less happy. It’s as if life loses some of its colors. Things we used to love don’t give us as much joy anymore. The good news is, you can all-natural happiness. In this course, together we’ll work out a way to find your happiness again and learn to keep it amid the multiplicity of tasks and responsibilities.
Before we jump to the contents of the course, let me tell you a little bit more about myself. I’ve been writing on the topic of personal growth and happiness for several years now and produced dozens of materials on productivity, life-work balance and wellbeing for my subscribers. But all this hasn’t come to me easily.
In 2017, I decided I’d start taking my life seriously. I was super confident that I could get it all done in one go. I sat down and I started planning my life, writing down my goals, making plans on how and when I wanted to achieve those. Soon, I ran out of paper and had to switch to Excel tables.
Before I knew it, I had several long lists of goals I wanted to achieve in the upcoming year, the next three years, the next ten years, the next thirty years. My spreadsheet was bursting with plans and ideas. I wanted to plan out every little step - everything I wanted to do, to have, and to be. I’ve done all the exercises - I asked myself questions about why I wanted to reach these goals, I visualized, and I had all the steps written out.
But at the end of that year, I still felt terrible. I’ve come back to the list of my goals to check on my progress before the year
