About this ebook

This book represents a whimsical look at everyday transformation concepts. The 101 tips contain thought provoking advice for connecting to your soul's purpose and returning to only love.
My hope is that you will be entertained by my sense of humor as well as my finger on the button approach to looking at your life and your issues from a spiritual and fresh perspective.
Sometimes we can feel a little frustrated with ourselves that things are not moving fast enough or in the right direction. Sometime life goes sideways instead of forward but let this book soothe you during trying times, lift your spirits and brainstorm with you around issues we all struggle with and eventually resolve with divine guidance.
This is not a religious book, but it contains wisdom from many faiths that all tie together with one universal truth we have a guiding force in our lives and our connection to that source sets the path for our soul's journey. I consider this book a spiritual endeavour of the struggling soul. Without faith in yourself and the desire to follow the guidance of your soul whispers we are truly caught up in the confusing world around us. Whenever you are feeling overwhelmed or you're not quite sure what to do next, sit a spell, read a tip, get a laugh or get inspired to Zig or Zag in a new direction. Most of all I want you to know that you are loved, and it will all work out.
May your life and all the love that is in it, grow exponentially and beyond what you could ever imagine.

The Past Is History—Don’t Look Back

Everyone has a past. There are probably things you have done or things that have happened to you that you consider failures or mistakes. Today’s a new day, you need to let your history go. Decide to believe that you did your best at that time with what you knew—and when you knew better you did better. Know in your heart that all these past experiences have been lessons learned. You can’t move forward in life looking in the rear-view mirror at a past and a path that you can no longer change. Give yourself a clean slate starting today—so you can launch your comeback.

    Pick Your Team

Look around your life and notice the people you have surrounding and supporting you. They will fall into a few different categories. Some are immediate family, extended family, close friends, work friends, social club, church group or organization. Start by drawing a line down the page and on the right-side state who will stand for you (no matter what) and who, well intentioned as they may be, will be out in left field they just don’t really know you heart that well. The gang in left field care about you but they do not get you, they aren’t quite sure what you’re doing in your life and why you just don’t get with their program. Drop them from your list, not from your life—but from your list of cheerleaders and supporters. Your gang in left field will most likely not be there to cheer you on, or be your coach or be there for late night phone calls or those doubtful times you need to soul search about what direction to go in. They can’t be involved because they are too consumed with their own needs. Give them a break and yourself as well.

Now look at that team on the right side of the line—do you have a coach, an advisor or mentor, a lover, a trailblazer? Each of these roles will be important to you as you move forward and if there are gaps in your team—then look for a new person to fill that role. There are online chat groups for all kinds of hobbies, business mentors, finance gurus, organizing wizards, church supporters, book clubs, even professional associations. Tell all of your right-side friends you need another person for your team to fill any role that is empty. Perhaps a friend will have a person in their team to loan you for a while. I’m happy to jump in for a while until you find someone who can permanently fill that spot on your team in the form of using this book to figure out what your next step needs to be to create the life you know your soul is drawing you toward. There are names of great life coaches, spiritual guides and inspirational people listed within these pages so buckle up and read on you will thrive as you laugh and love yourself through this adventure, we call living and learning.

    Trust

The most important person to trust as you go through examining your life and the changes you think are needed, is You. Yes, that’s right you. Do you break promises to yourself? Have you broken promises in the past and not forgiven yourself for them? The question to consider is why have you treated yourself so poorly?

Would you break a promise to someone you loved, would you do it easily, thoughtfully or do you hate to let others down? Look at where you can improve and build trust in your word. Trust that you will follow through with integrity and your words mean something of value to your friends, family and more importantly, to yourself. Here are some influencers who have words of wisdom about trust.

    Maya Angelou’s quote

I don’t trust people who say they don’t love themselves but say I love you.

    Brene Brown teaches

We can’t ask people to give to us something that we do not believe we are worthy of receiving.

    Rebuilding Trust Tips

    1.  The only way to trust again is to grab hold of your fear and acknowledge it. Know your fear is normal. Fear of rejection, fear of getting it wrong, fear of being laughed at, fear of the unknown, fear of being taken advantage of or fear of losing something of ourselves. These are all normal fears. We could allow fear and the idea that we’re protecting ourselves from pain to run our lives or, we can trust that whatever happens we are safe, we are resilient and keep moving forward.

    2.  Your authenticity is the practice of keeping honest in your everyday life.

    3.  You can’t change for the better in a lasting way, without self-acceptance.

    4.  Tell your inner critic: I see you; I hear you, you’re welcome to tell me your opinion as I try out this new idea to change but I’m still going to do what I feel is best for all, period.

    5.  The people around you may think they can lead you in the right way, but you have to know in your gut when something feels right and step into that moment and in your own timing.

    6.  Can you stay in a tough space when things get awkward and uncomfortable? Do you own your vulnerability—it’s not a weakness but a strength.

    7.  Live by your values—Know what supports you, what is it that you value and what doesn’t work.

    8.  The Rise Up Factor—Learn how to get back up. People are more willing to be courageous up front if they know how to rise up from a fall. A tip from my ski training days was teach the student how to fall then get up so they can feel much safer about starting to ski down the hill.

    9.  There are no coincidences. It just seems like they are all around you when you are lost and looking for signs or waiting for someone to tell you what to do. What you need to accept is there is always a plan in place but sometimes you won’t see it except in hindsight. That relationship that fizzled out, the job interview you blew up, the unexpected bill in the mail. This is where trust comes in. Trust yourself that you will find the answers you seek and trust that there is an answer on its way to help you out.

    10.  Worry can keep you from leaning into joy and having gratitude about your life. Worry is teaching you to practice the negative in advance. It will do nothing to help you if the moment does come and things fall apart for a while. Worry will squander your joy. Instead practice gratitude so you can fully experience what you have and realize you deserve a break.

    11.  We all have an inner critic that speaks up when we are starting into something new or trying to self-confidently move forward. That critic likes to remind you of all the problems that can come up to ruin your plan in addition to repeating all of your past mistakes. If you don’t listen to that critic they seem to yell louder, cause you to have panic attacks, make you have afternoon naps rather than keep moving full steam ahead. The way around this issue is give "mini me a seat at your advisor table. Let them talk about what they are worried about when you are investigating changes in your life or your beliefs. If your critic has a chance to be heard, you won’t make an enemy who feels threatened you will steam roll over them and force a change on them when they don’t see any benefits to your goals. When mini me" learns to trust your decisions, the road will be much smoother and change will become part of a negotiated partnership between Me, Myself and I. The trinity within.

You’re Creating the Outcome You Want—For Some Stupid Reason

We would like to believe we are unique and have grown up with our own beliefs separate of our parents and siblings but in fact you formed decisions about who you were and how to get your outcomes when you were a child, and many people still live by those codes of ethics and behaviours today with poor results. The rules we have about our lives and how things should work create the outcomes we are getting. If you have100 rules for what makes you angry or unhappy in life and maybe 6 rules on what makes you happy then you’re likely measuring how many of your rules are being violated every day and likely grumbling quite a bit about your life. They can be as small as the bacon in my sandwich is not cooked crisp enough, or that driver just cut in front of me with
