About this ebook

In the realm where silence lies,
Shiv's secret wisdom flies.
Om, the sound that births the rest,
In Shiv's heart, it finds its nest.
Shiv, the essence pure and bright,
Dispels the darkness, brings the light.
The universe, His divine play,
In Yoga's unity, finds its way.
Sages seek His divine lore,
On Kedar's slopes, they explore.
Dialogues deep, they exchange,
On Atma and Brahman, vast and strange.
From delusion to truth, they ascend,
From death to life, their path wends.
In Shiv's grace, they find release,
In Sat-Chit-Ananda, they find peace.

    Shiv Rahasya - Munindra Misra

    Shiv Rahasya - Shiv Teachings

    Dedicated to

    Song

    (Verse 1)

In the heart of the cosmos, where silence resides,

There's a dance of energy, where Shiv abides.

He's the lord of destruction, but also creation,

A symbol of consciousness, and divine liberation.

    (Chorus)

Oh Shiv, the secret, the rahasya divine,

In your cosmic dance, the universe aligns.

With each beat of the damru, and each step in your dance,

You create, preserve, destroy, in a mystical trance.

    (Verse 2)

He's the yogi supreme, in deep meditation,

Absorbed in the self, in pure contemplation.

He's the bearer of the Ganges, the moon on his crest,

With a serpent around his neck, he's the deity blessed.

    (Chorus)

Oh Shiv, the secret, the rahasya profound,

In your eternal wisdom, the truths are found.

You're the essence of Vedas, the heart of the mantra,

In the depth of silence, it's you we encounter.

    (Bridge)

From the ashes he rises, with the trident in hand,

He's the lord of the beasts, yet in peace, he stands.

He's the lover of Parvati, the father of Ganesha,

Shiv, the secret, the rahasya, the moksha.

    (Chorus)

Oh Shiv, the secret, the rahasya we seek,

In your presence, we find the peace so unique.

You're the cycle of life, the rhythm of breath,

In the dance of your energy, we find life and death.

    (Outro)

So we sing of Shiv, the secret, the rahasya so deep,

In the stillness of the mind, where the secrets seep.

In the dance of the cosmos, in the rhythm of the heart,

Shiv, the secret, where all secrets start.

    Sat Chit Anand

Sat, the truth that's ever bright,

Chit, the consciousness, our inner light.

    Anand, bliss, in depths profound,

In these three, our true self is found.

Sat, the eternal, never does wane,

Chit, the awareness, forever shall reign.

Anand, the joy, no sorrow can taint,

In Sat-Chit-Anand, we find no constraint.

In the silence of the mind, truth unfolds,

In the heart's light, consciousness holds.

In the depth of the soul, bliss is found,

    Sat-Chit-Anand, in these we're bound.

    Shiv Shakti

    Shiv and Shakti, divine pair,

In cosmic dance, they swirl in air.

Shiv, the void, silent and vast,

Shakti, the energy, shadows she cast.

Shiv, the consciousness, pure and still,

Shakti, the power, works her will.

Together they weave the cosmic play,

Night and day, in endless array.

Shiv, the ascetic, in meditation deep,

Shakti, the world, in her care does keep.

In their union, creation takes flight,

In their dance, shines the eternal light.

Shiv and Shakti, two halves of a whole,

In their dance, they play every role.

In their love, the universe takes form,

In their union, we are reborn.

    Invocation

In the name of Shiv, so glorious and grand,

The most obvious, the highest, with the universe in His hand.

Master of Yoga, Lord of Unity, He stands tall,

To the eternal teacher and master, we give our all.

May He enlighten the hearts of seekers, one and all,

And set their purified minds on the path that doesn't fall.

A path that's straight, not crooked, leading to the divine,

Under His guidance, may we forever shine.

From delusion unto truth, may He guide our way,

From darkness unto light, keeping shadows at bay.

From death unto eternal life, through the cosmic tide,

In Shiv’s name, the most glorious, may we forever abide.

    In English Rhyme

In the realm of the divine, where secrets reside,

Is the tale of Shiv, the universe's guide.

The Rahasya of Shiv, a mystery profound,

In the rhythm of the cosmos, his tales are found.

He's the lord of creation, and of destruction too,

In the dance of life, his rhythm rings true.

With Parvati by his side, and Ganesha his son,

The tale of Shiv, is a tale never done.

In deep meditation, he sits on Mount Kailash,

His third eye opens, and the illusions crash.

He's the bearer of the trident, the master of yoga,

In the silence of the self, he's the eternal saga.

The serpent around his neck, the moon on his head,

Symbolize the cycle of life, of birth and the dead.

He's the essence of the Vedas, the heart of the mantra,

In the depth of silence, it's Shiv we encounter.

So here's the rhyme of the Shiv Rahasya, so deep,

A tale of the divine, where secrets seep.

In the dance of Shiv, in the rhythm of the heart,

Is the secret of existence, where all secrets start.

    Chapter 01

Wherein His Majesty, Lord Shiv, in His divine sphere,

Introduces the eternal teaching of Yoga to the four seers.

Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatan, Sanat  Kumar, keenly hear,

In the cosmic silence, His divine words appear.

Om is the Eternal Sound Supreme, He begins so clear,

"Of that, all other sounds are born, have no fear.

In the vibration of Om, the universe finds its form,

In its resonance, the cosmic dance is born.

Thus spoke Sage Vyasa, compiler of sacred lore,

Disseminator of scriptures, opening wisdom's door.

His words echo through time, across the cosmic sea,

Guiding all seekers on the path to be free."

OM, the sound of the cosmos, rings clear,

To Shiv, the essence of all that's dear.

    Kindly, pure, all-knowing, and strong,

Most merciful one, to you we belong.

Seekers of truth, your search ends here,

For the Word of God is now near.

Delivering Atmas from sorrow and pain,

Guiding them on the path of gain.

OM, the eternal truth in God's heart,

From which the will to speak did start.

From will arose a thought so grand,

Manifested as Word in this land.

The secret lore, to yogis revealed,

In the world, the spirit unsealed.

    Duravasa, Nageshanatha, Kapalin, Anandanatha,

Addressed their thoughts to the Supreme Father.

Holy mantras and chants they intoned,

To the lofty Gods, their prayers were loaned.

Beyond them, to the God of Gods, they reached,

To the Greatest One, their prayers beseeched.

Moved by devotion, earnest and true,

The Ocean of Life sent forth a view.

A dazzling stream of light, so bright,

A river of compassion, a redeeming sight.

A whirling glow of silver split the sky,

A mighty orb of light descended from high.

So bright, no mortal had seen before,

Even from afar, it was hard to ignore.

In the midst of brightness, the Lord of Life shone,

His sky-blue complexion, like nothing known.

His eyes, two stars, a third eye brighter,

Illumined the world, made everything lighter.

The crescent moon on His radiant brow,

Announced the dawning of enlightenment now.

The Fiery One, the Lord of Light,

Came to dispel darkness, to set things right.

Seated on a lotus-seat, royal and grand,

With petals of blue sapphire, a sight so grand.

The sky sheltered Him, an azure silk canopy,

The sun enveloped His head, a golden symphony.

Thus, the Compassionate One, embodiment of all,

Descended from Heaven, to answer the call.

Shining like the sun at dawn,

Before His faithful devotees, He was drawn.

On seeing the Deity, the Universe's Lord,

The Four Quarters trembled, in one accord.

Creation trembled, in the Creator's presence,

Unheard-of sounds filled the worlds in essence.

All things became translucent, like crystal, like gems,

The world came alive, from its roots to its stems.

A great gladness filled every heart,

Their Atmas rose high, ready to start.

No higher truth than Shiv, the Universal Consciousness,

The Cause of all causes, the source of all success.

At the beginning of Time, He created the World,

And the Gods who rule, their powers unfurled.

Hail to You, O Greatest God, O Shiv, Lord of all beings!

Glory unto You, O Lord of Sages, O Master of all things!

You are the Atma of the Universe, creator of all,

By Your Power alone, everything moves, big and small.

May Victory be Yours, O Lord of Life!

You, the Source of Supreme Peace, ender of strife.

All-Pervading One, Deity of the foremost Yogis,

Whom Mother Earth ever reveres, in all her follies.

Graciously listening to their praises, the Three-Eyed Lord,

Spoke unto them, with a voice like a chord.

O noble Sages! what good can I do,

To those who are perpetually immersed in Truth's hue?

On hearing His words, the Sages bowed down,

To the Eternal Lord of Life, wearing the crown.

They spoke to the Great God, who had appeared,

Graciously inclined, their every wish He heard.

O Lord! by Your Grace, we lack nothing,

Yet though we know the Truth, doubts are clinging.

We seek shelter with You, the Original Wise,

The Unmanifest Being, the ultimate prize.

You are the Primal Ever-Living One,

Who preceded all other things, under the sun.

Except You, the Great Lord, there is no other,

Knower of Truth, not even another.

    Therefore, pray dispel our doubts,

We desire to know, what life's about.

Where do all things come from? How did the World begin?

What is the true Home of all Atmas? What is sin?

What causes a Atma to be born and reborn?

What is the cause of suffering, of being torn?

How is deliverance from sorrow attained?

O Lord, let these truths be explained.

What is the best path for men to tread?

What are the planes of existence, it's said?

Who is the All-Witnessing Self so bright?

What is the Highest Reality, the eternal light?

How is Higher Knowledge truly gained?

What brings Peace and Happiness, unfeigned?

O Lord of Unmeasured Greatness, hear our plea,

Reveal Your Divine Self, set our spirits free.

For You alone, O Shiv, know Your Self Divine,

No one else does, in this earthly shrine.

Reveal Your Divine Self, O Jewel of Mercy,

Wielder of the Bolt of Light, set us free.

Comforter of the distressed, Friend of the destitute,

Protector of the oppressed, in You we salute.

Whatever be a Atma's anxiety and pain,

You offer Salvation, make him hale again.

Bowing down to the God, Whose Emblem is the Bull,

The Sages requested of the Supreme, their hearts full.

The Supreme Sovereign, God of Unmeasured Greatness,

Illumined the World with His Radiance, His blessedness.

The Lord of Life, Master of all beings,

In Whom the Universe lies, to Whom everything clings.

The Most Compassionate One, the Greatest God,

Instructed the Sages, with a divine nod.

O pure ones, listen now, with steady minds,

To the knowledge of the Lord, in His divine signs.

This Perfect Knowledge of Mine, an eternal mystery,

Cannot be expressed, not even in history.

Resorting to this Perfect Knowledge, in days gone by,

The first among Seekers of Truth reached the sky.

Having found Truth, their Atmas attained Perfection,

Free from the fetters of the earthly connection.

The Perfect Ones know not delusion, nor pain, nor sorrow,

    They've joined
