The mentoring program in basic training activities for civil servant candidates aims to improve the professionalism of civil servants at the beginning of community service. The relationship between mentors and mentees is fundamental and crucial to realizing the goals of mentors and mentees. This study aims to determine the character of the mentor's "admirable characteristics" in the actualization of basic training for civil servant candidates. This research on the phenomenon of the interpretive paradigm uses a qualitative approach with data taken from interviews using purposive sampling, observing mentor-mentee interactions, and analyzing seminar documents. The findings of this study show that, in general, mentors have ideal and professional characteristics. "Humble" characteristics and "teacher" professionalism are indicators that mentors can visualize against mentees. These are characters that are able to create connections that are able to build and develop the potential of the mentee and realize success. basic exercise. However, this positive condition is very contradictory to the condition of the results of the interview. It has been found that there are mentors who ignore their functions. So the strategies currently recommended are the availability of schedules, technical guidance, and transparency of the mentor-mentee relationship. The personality of the mentor is fundamental to the implementation of a good and effective mentoring process. Abstract Background: Quantitative ultrasound (QUS) methods have been widely used to assess bone status in osteoporosis. For follow-up examinations, there are no recommendations regarding the use of QUS due to a lack of data. This study aimed to investigate the longitudinal use of QUS in 4 months of military training to assess bone remodelling in association with physical activity and anthropometry.Subjects and methods: We analysed the changes in bone health using calcaneal quantitative ultrasound (Sonost-3000) as well as the impact of anthropometry, body composition, and physical activity in young men at the start (n=104) and 18 weeks later after basic training (n=73).Results: After basic training, the subjects were heavier, slightly taller, and had higher fat mass and grip strength. An overall decrease in physical activity and bone ultrasound attenuation (BUA) was observed. A negative correlation between the development of fat mass and physical activity with BUA was found, with fat mass as the highest impact factor. Development of grip strength correlated positively with SOS, while skeletal muscle mass and waist circumference correlated negatively. Development of skeletal muscle mass and weight had the highest impact on SOS.Conclusion: Overall, subjects were heavier, taller, and fatter and showed increased grip strength, decreased physical activity, and loss of bone health. It is alarming that the increase in fat mass already has a negative effect on the bone structure after 18 weeks. As seen in other studies, the impact of force on bone during walking is insufficient to strengthen it. The results imply that the selected troops of the Swiss army recruits (air defence) have too little high-impact physical activity during their basic training, what should be changed in the future. To verify the worrying results from our study, a prospective randomized study with a survey of low and high impact activities as well as a detailed survey of eating and nutritional habits during basic training should be carried out. QUS seems to be a good tool for assessing bone status, even in the event of short-term changes.

The purpose of the study was the analysis of the growth dynamics of power indicators of athletes-bodybuilders at the stage of specialized basic training. Materials and methods. The study was conducted from March to the end of June (4 months) 2021. It involved 60 athletes aged from 18 to 19 years. Three research groups were formed, 20 athletes in each. These groups of athletes were divided by the usual sample method and by age. Qualification and anthropometric characteristics did not differ significantly. The only difference was in the proposed training programs. Theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature was carried out. Test control method for determining the maximum muscle strength of athletes to assess the initial level of muscle strength development in the surveyed contingent and determine the characteristics of its dynamics, was used. The obtained data were used to calculate the indicators of the value of the training load of athletes. In addition, method for quantitative assessment of athletes' physical load was used. The mathematical processing of research results was carried out using the software packages IBM SPSS Statistics 20. Results and discussion. The research results indicate that the values of the training loads indicators of bodybuilders and the nature of their changes in conditions of the same level of athletes' fitness and the structure of the training session depend on the characteristics of the selected training means (training programs). The analysis of the results obtained shows that under the conditions of the second variant of the training program, the indicators of the working mass of the athletes' equipment change more significantly during the entire research period. A similar tendency is observed when monitoring the load volume indicators, despite the fact that the most significant increase in this indicator among bodybuilders when performing formative exercises was obtained under the conditions of using the third variant of the training program, using the “premature fatigue” method. Conclusion. The growth rates of the strength capabilities of the main muscle groups turned out to be the highest among bodybuilders of the second main group due to the long-term use of the “premature fatigue” method. When performing exercises of a formative nature, the growth rate of strength capabilities was 30.9% (p <0.05), while when performing exercises of a basic nature, such an increase was three times less (by 10.5%, p <0.05)

The purpose of the study was a comparative analysis of training programs in bodybuilding and an assessment of their influence on the frequency of traumatization of the musculoskeletal system of athletes. Materials and methods. Theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature was conducted. For a practical assessment of the primary data on the types of injuries, a survey of medical staff was conducted. We analyzed 54 journals with records of athletes' appeals to medical personnel. Mathematical processing of research results was carried out using the software packages IBM SPSS Statistics 2.0. The study, which was conducted during 4 months – from March to the end of June 2021, involved 60 bodybuilders aged 18-19 years old. Three research groups of 20 athletes each were formed. They were divided according to age, qualifications and anthropometric characteristics. The created groups did not have significant differences in these characteristics; the intergroup difference applied only to the proposed training programs. Results and discussion. In the course of the study, it was found that among the athletes of the control group who used the generally accepted program of training sessions with a certain sequence of using exercises of a basic and formative nature, the number of calls with certain pain sensations during four mesocycles of training decreased by 30.7% (p <0.05) compared to a similar period before the start of the study. At the same time, the results obtained show that among the athletes of the first main group, who used the combined program of training sessions in bodybuilding during the study, the controlled indicator of the number of calls decreased significantly – by 33.4% (p <0.05). Conclusion. In the process of studying the peculiarities of the influence of various programs of training sessions on the dynamics of morpho-functional indicators of the athletes’ organisms during four mesocycles of training sessions, a certain regularity was established regarding the ratio of the manifestations of types of injuries when performing strength exercises, depending on the sequence of their use. In the process of applying the methodical procedure "premature fatigue" on the dynamics of morphometric indicators of body weight of athletes it is shown that it is the third version of the program that contributes to a significant decrease in the number of calls (by 75%, p <0.05), compared with the results obtained over the period of the previous four mesocycles of intensive bodybuilding at the stage of specialized basic training of athletes

To investigate the accuracy of fidgety movements (FMs) assessment in Japanese assessors. Sixty specialists participated in the first survey. Of the participants, 18 were assessors certified by the GMs basic-training course. The surveys were composed of FMs assessment of 20 video clips. The correct assessment rates (CARs) were investigated. The survey videos were judged into three types: normal (F + +, F +), abnormal (AF) and absent (F + -, F-). After the first survey, each participant performed a self-learning exercise using clips of the first survey. The follow-up survey was conducted three months after the first survey. The median CAR of the first survey was 65% in certified assessors and 50% in noncertified assessors. The median CARs of certified assessors were significantly higher than that of noncertified assessors for all clips and for normal FMs and AF clips (p < 0.01). After 3 months of self-learning exercise the CARs in each judgement type improved in 28 follow-up survey participants. Their median CAR improved from 60% in the first survey to 84% in the follow-up survey. To practise general movements assessment (GMA), course certification is required. The self-learning exercise with the confirmed judgement FMs clips may be effective for improving the ability of FMs judgement.

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is demonstrated as the most efficacious intervention for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in many pieces of paper (Stahmer, 2011). However, ABA has been neither officially educated in Vietnam nor studied to examine the ability of intervention teachers. In order to enhance the quality of intervention teachers in specialized centers, a basic training program was conducted, including a two-week tutorial and a three-month supervised practicum. One hundred thirty-one intervention teachers in Vietnam participated in this training, which comprised general knowledge, fundamental skills, and on-site practicing. The finding indicated that the knowledge about ABA is limited; there are differences between staff with different specialties. The training has a positive impact on raising awareness of ABA even though it was a short-period program. These findings serve as the foundation for introducing evidence-based methods such as ABA into practice for ASD and other developmental disorders in Vietnam.

Like other congregate living settings, military basic training has been subject to outbreaks of COVID-19. We sought to identify improved strategies for preventing outbreaks in this setting using an agent-based model of a hypothetical cohort of trainees on a U.S. Army post. Our analysis revealed unique aspects of basic training that require customized approaches to outbreak prevention, which draws attention to the possibility that customized approaches may be necessary in other settings, too. In particular, we showed that introductions by trainers and support staff may be a major vulnerability, given that those individuals remain at risk of community exposure throughout the training period. We also found that increased testing of trainees upon arrival could actually increase the risk of outbreaks, given the potential for false-positive test results to lead to susceptible individuals becoming infected in group isolation and seeding outbreaks in training units upon release. Until an effective transmission-blocking vaccine is adopted at high coverage by individuals involved with basic training, need will persist for non-pharmaceutical interventions to prevent outbreaks in military basic training. Ongoing uncertainties about virus variants and breakthrough infections necessitate continued vigilance in this setting, even as vaccination coverage increases.

Abstract Background: An effective military force is required to be agile, capable, efficient, and potent. Injuries to military personnel interrupt active-duty service and can detract from overall capability. These injuries are associated with a high individual and organizational burden, with lost work time and financial costs - all problematic for the ongoing functioning of a military force. Injury control strategies have therefore been described as force multipliers. Female personnel form an integral part of any modern defence force, but little research has examined their specific experiences of injury, to inform targeted injury control efforts. The aim of this review was to identify and synthesise findings from studies of injury rates and patterns in female military personnel, comparing them to those of male personnel. Methods: A systematic search was conducted for studies which compared injury rates between the sexes at any stage of military service, from basic training through to deployment. Databases searched included PUBMED, CINAHL and Medline through OVID. Methodological quality of eligible articles was assessed using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program (CASP), and AXIS tools and data were extracted, synthesized, and, where possible, underwent meta-analysis.Results: Of 2287 identified studies, a total of 25 studies were eligible and included. Methodological quality ranged from 60% up to a perfect score of 100%, with an average of 82% across all studies. Relative risks for injuries (reported as RR [95%CI]) to females when compared to males were 2.10 [1.89-2.33] during basic training, 1.70 [1.33–2.17] during officer training, and 1.23 [1.05-1.43] post initial training. After adjustment for differences between the sexes in average fitness levels (2-mile run time), there was no longer a significant difference in injury rates (adjusted RR: 0.95 [0.86-1.05]). Female personnel tended to make bigger improvements in their fitness during basic training than males and tended to report their injuries more frequently and sooner than males. Conclusion While this review found a higher rate of reported injuries in female military personnel when compared to male personnel, differences between the sexes in average fitness levels and injury reporting behaviours may largely explain this rate difference. The difference in rates of reported injuries was greatest during basic training, and reduced thereafter, possibly due in part to a reduced difference in fitness between the sexes or increased opportunity to self-determine workloads relative to fitness levels.
