Workplace health and safety has been of paramount importance for any nation and the stakeholders- authorities, employers and workers – must have reasonable sensitization for the same. During the COVID 19 pandemic, lots of policy formulations and regulations had to incorporate within the industries for the health and welfare of the workers. The “new normal” will take some time for adjustments, challenges and implications to be implemented effectively and consistently. Certain processes in the workplace, especially in the mechanical engineering companies, are likely for high close contact incidences. Special situations pertaining to workers’’ health, like crowded accommodations, travel risks as well common canteens, all need to be reconsidered for providing safer environment to the workers, as far as the current pandemic is concerned. This requires coordinated efforts from all the stakeholders within the mechanical field through subconscious acceptance of the norms of safety and hygiene at all levels.

Occupational health and safety (OHS) is an important aspect of the labour protection field. This chapter compares OHS legal regimes of China and EU. Comprehensive workplace health and safety legislations of the two systems are described, and the different aspects, including for example, legislative aim, the legislation structure, general obligation, OHS insurance, moral harassment, law enforcement, etc., are detailed. Based on the analysis, conclusions are made and policy recommendations from both legislation aspect and enforcement aspect are provided.

<p>Currently a corporation cannot be convicted of manslaughter in New Zealand. Increasingly, this distinction demarcated between individuals and corporations seems out of touch, particularly in light of legislation passed in cognate jurisdictions and the ascendance of a plethora of industrial disasters both in New Zealand and abroad.  Taking as its focus the Report of the Independent Taskforce on Workplace Health and Safety (2013), this paper contemplates the above issues, concluding that the offence’s alignment with fundamental criminal law principles makes a strong case for its introduction in New Zealand. Consideration is also given to the format and rules of attribution that should accompany a resolve to prosecute corporate manslaughter, finding that a more comprehensive discussion, going beyond the recommendations of the Taskforce, is necessary before any legislation is settled on.</p>

The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of organizational characteristics, and individual characteristics on physical environment component, psychosocial component, and behavior component toward workplace safety and health in PT. PLN (Persero) Suluttenggo area. The object of this research is permanent employees or outsourcing employees in PT. PLN (Persero) Suluttenggo Area. Research Design used in this research is survey research, in which the sample collected by distributing questionnaires to 50 permanent employees and outsourcing employees that already worked as work partner of PT. PLN (Persero) Suluttenggo Area. As for the analysis instrument is using partial least squares (PLS). The result shows that organizational characteristic has a positive influence on the components of work environment, either physically or psychosocially; and on behavior as well as the workplace health and safety. On the other hand, individual characteristic doesn’t have an influence. The result of this research also shows that only the individual behavior that has a positive influence on workplace health and safety, while physical work environment does not, meanwhile psychosocial component has a negative influence on workplace health and safety.
