A330 Etops Parts List
A330 Etops Parts List
A330 Etops Parts List
This issue of ETOPS PARTS LIST corresponds to A330 CMP Document Revision 23 dated 17 November 2011 (Applicable to all A330 models) - CMP Data Reference: LR2/EASA : AMC 20-6/CMP -
1. Purpose: To identify parts whose usage is restricted on ETOPS aircraft and to further categorize them into those authorized and not authorized on an aircraft dispatched for ETOPS operation. 2. Contents: The parts list corresponds to Airbus A330 ETOPS Configuration, Maintenance and Procedures Document (CMP), CMP Data Reference: LR2/EASA : AMC 20-6/CMP, and a revision number, for A330 aircraft. The list relates the CMP item name, its associated modification number and service bulletin (SB) number, Airbus and/or vendor, to a parts listing which may or may not be used on an aircraft flying ETOPS. It also traces the history of each part group, through use of pre- and postmodification numbers. The part's list reference number, issue date and corresponding CMP reference are marked on each page. 3. Method used to create the parts list: The parts list is created after the referenced CMP is issued. The modification number and/or service bulletin number is used as the starting point to identify the old and the new part numbers. Once identified, a part number search is performed using Airbus parts data base, the service bulletin and the modification dossier, to establish the part's family tree. The parts are then classified NOT APPROVED FOR ETOPS or MINIMUM STANDARD APPROVED FOR ETOPS. Those parts NOT APPROVED are all those which are the pre-modification standard or earlier. The parts APPROVED are all those which are the post modification standard or more advanced. An item which is the direct responsibility of a vendor (noted VIPC) or the engine manufacturer may not be listed or if it is listed, may not have a complete family tree due to the unavailability of the information at Airbus. Only part numbers of major components are identified. Support items for this component, i.e. brackets, washers, nuts, etc., are not listed. If an entire configuration was changed a major component in the system change is identified. If no major component exists, no part numbers are identified and the user must assure that the correct page in the IPC (noted by the major modification number) is used. Furthermore revised items in the parts list are written in red. 4. Cautions (list short falls): The family trees identified are as complete as possible and may give part numbers, especially in the not approved listing, which are obsolete. On the other hand, the list may not state all of the approved ETOPS parts due to an evolution in the product's standard. It is up to each user to customize this list to its operation by using its customized IPC. This list also does not contain compatibility requirements. For instance, if a certain computer invalidates the usage of another computer, the second computer is not listed. It is up to the individual user to make this liaison using IPC codes. Part numbers authorized via accomplishment of a service bulletin, but not available as a spare, may not appear on this list. As long as it can be shown that the component is post-modification standard, the part is authorized; vice-versa, a pre-modification standard is not approved. This list does not identify all amendment numbers or other similar markings which differentiates the application of lower level SBs. This information is identified if it is available and if it is needed to differentiate between an ETOPS and non-ETOPS configuration. If no note is mentioned and a second level of identifications exists, all parts within the parent numerical value are effected. This list does not track changes to higher assembly part numbers.

5. Liability Statement: This list is created by Airbus to provide an aide in controlling ETOPS configurations. It may not be full proof! Prior to adopting this list in an ETOPS operation, each company should verify this information against its customized IPC. Any corrections and/or comments to improve the contents of this list should be provided to Airbus' ETOPS department.
6. Users Guide By Column: 6.1 Column 1 - AI Mod No.: *Component/configuration name: states the name of the component or configuration effected; name close to or identical to that in the CMP
* mod numbers: modification numbers that are called out in the CMP * CMP Eff: : states which aircraft models have this item in their CMP. Note that this item may not be in a CMP, but may be basic to the aircraft, by default validating the usage of parts in the approved for ETOPS column.
* or: choice of one of the modifications * and: both modifications must be embodied * ------AND : the modification(s) above and below dotted lines must be incorporated ------* ------OR : the modification(s) above or below dotted lines must be incorporated ------* ( xxxxx ) : extra information to define scope of modification effectivity
* Note - "**The configuration(s) prior to this standard is (are) not flagged ("Not approved for ETOPS ") in the IPC.**":Signals that an entire configuration and not a component was effected and that once the IPC contains ETOPS notes the modification numbers will not be identified as ETOPS or non-ETOPS.
6.2 Column 2 - AI or vendor SB: * Mod xxxxx: relates to the modification number to the service bulletin number * A330-xx-xxxx: Airbus Service Bulletin number. Same SB number appears in the CMP. * vendor name and SB number: listed when available * or: choice of one of the modifications * and: both modifications must be embodied
i.2
* ------AND -------
* ------OR : the modification(s) above or below dotted lines must be incorporated ------* ( xxxxx ) : extra information to define scope of modification effectivity * (... non-priority, no later than DD MM YY):
states that all SBs and or modifications listed above this message must be incorporated on ETOPS aircraft by the day (DD) month (MM) year (YY) given. Until that time, the aircraft can fly ETOPS without this item being embodied. If more than one note like this appears, all text above the first set of parentheses is concerned and all text after the first set of parentheses and above the second set of parentheses is governed by the note in the second parentheses.
* ------Superseded by : -------
mods/SBs above the top dotted line are superseded by the mods/SBs below the bottom dotted line
6.3 Column 3 - P/Ns NOT ETOPS Approved: * Lists all part numbers of that referenced component/equipment which are not allowed to be used on aircraft flying ETOPS. provides a reference to part numbers which were introduced prior to the ETOPS mod or SB, Mod xxxxx / SB xx-xxxx.
.Part numbers listed directly underneath this heading: The part numbers listed directly underneath this pre-mod or pre-SB heading are the part numbers which have been invalidated for use on ETOPS aircraft due to the fact that Mod xxxxx becomes the minimum configuration standard. Caution : Higher assemblies part numbers are not listed. * (mod xxxxx): appears after a part number listed underneath the heading "more advanced standards" and identifies the modification number which introduces this part. * Equipment / component name: this is the equipment or component which is effected. If more than one component's name is listed underneath a modification number or SB number, then all components are effected by this mod or SB. If the modification number or SB number is situated underneath the component or equipment name, then the mod or SB only effects this immediate equipment.
i.3
* Phrase "If the a/c in question has mod xxxxx, then IPC pages not reflecting this mod are not authorized for use.":
This phrase appears when an entire configuration has been changed and there is no individual equipment or component effected. The only identification feature is the design feature itself which is controlled by a modification standard.
* (after DD MM YY):
Signals the date which all of the part numbers (entire column) above this date are not allowed to be used on ETOPS aircraft. Until that time, these part numbers can be installed on ETOPS aircraft. If more than one note like this appears, all text above the first set of parentheses is concerned and all text after the first set of parentheses and above the second set of parentheses is governed by the note in the second parentheses. If this note does not appear in a column, that means the item is priority for ETOPS and all part numbers in the column cannot be mounted on an aircraft flying an ETOPS route.
* -------: separates equipment or modification part numbers * (VIPC): indicates that this part number is found in the vendor IPC and is not a part sold by Airbus. The part's family tree may be incomplete due to limited information available. The respective vendor should be contacted in case of questions. indicates that the referenced engine manufacturer is responsible for this part and that it is found in its documentation. The part's family tree should be obtained from the engine manufacturer, if not given.
* ------OR : -------
the part number(s) above the dotted line apply to one configuration and the part number(s) below the dotted line apply to another configuration. The configuration is mentioned in bold at the top each part number group.
6.4 Column 4 - MINIMUM STANDARD P/N ETOPS APPROVED: * Lists the part number of that referenced component/equipment which is the minimum standard allowed to be used on aircraft flying ETOPS. More advanced standards and the allowed interchangeability are listed in the IPC. relates to the modification number or to the service bulletin number which caused the part number to be changed.
.Part numbers listed directly underneath this heading: The part number(s) listed directly underneath this mod number or SB number is (are) the part number(s) introduced by the mentioned change. Caution, : Higher assembly part numbers are not listed. * more advanced standards: part numbers introduced after the minimum ETOPS standard and allowed for used on ETOPS aircraft are found in the IPC; hence the note consult the IPC.
i.4
* Phrase "P/Ns shown on IPC pages reflecting mod xxxxx standard": This phrase appears when an entire configuration has been changed and there is no individual equipment or component effected. The only identification feature is the design feature itself which is controlled by a modification standard.
* ------OR : -------
the part number(s) above the dotted line apply to one configuration and the part number(s) below the dotted line apply to another configuration. The configuration is mentioned in bold at the top each part number group.
