The purpose of this activity is to cut a few millimetres from cylinder of metal by lathing machine. The activity is structured to help students learn to work in groups together as a team.

Imagine a cylinder of metal has 100 millimetres for length and 25 millimetres for the diameter is holding by lathing machine and it has a tool for cutting, the tool can move with two directions for cut the metal and we want to move it to 1.5 millimetres for the diameter and 50 millimetres for the length. How will be the diameter after cut 1.5 millimetres?

Instructions
After the exercise each person from the team will be asked to answer a question on the activity. If they get the answer wrong the entire team will fail the task. 1. Each team must pick a leader who will be in charge of the team. Each team must also pick one member who will record and fill in the worksheet. 2. You have to solve the questions using only the lathing machine and piece cylindrical metal with length 100mm, diameter 25mm and cutting tool. 3. You can hold the piece of metal by holder (this is known as workpieces holder). 4. You can use the tool's holder to hold the tool (this is known as cutting tool). 5. Let the cutting tool's point to touch the piece of metal (this is known as workpiece)
6. Start runs the machine. 7. Move the cutting tool with Y axis to 1.5 millimetres to start cutting. 8. Move the cutting tool with X axis to 50 millimetres.
