compressor valves
Valve problems are reportedly the primary reason for reciprocating compressor shutdowns, which in many cases can be attributed to design, improper reconditioning or operating factors. The CPI range meets most application requirements and includes valves such as CPI radiused disc, CPI Hi-Flo, ring, dampened disc, ported plate, replaceable seat plate and the IPV-indicator ported valve.

The CPI radiused disc valve design has improved reliability in a wide range of compressor applications worldwide. Valves are individually computer designed to match the compressor operating conditions for each application and are capable of operating across a wide range of parameters reaching temperatures of up to 200C/390F and pressures in excess of 400 bar/6000 psi, and are suitable for sour gas applications. Unloaders and actuators

CPI valves can be supplied with finger and plug type suction valve unloaders. These are complemented by a range of pneumatic valve unloader actuators, designed specifically for each application.

CPI ring valves

CPI ring type valves are manufactured to the highest quality, using either metallic and non-metallic ring components for compressors operating in a range of differing applications, both lubricated and non-lubricated. Achieving the optimum performance and reliability are key to most operators and CPI ring valves can deliver across the broad spectrum of applications and operating conditions required. Valvealert allows the user to collect, analyze data without the need for specialist training. The VA2 handheld portable data collector - records acoustic emission data and temperature, this stored data is uploaded to a PC or laptop where it is automatically analyzed. Both options operate with the specially developed and unique Valvealert software.

Is a non-intrusive, intrinsically safe condition monitoring tool which provides automatic detection and alerts of anomalies within the operation of reciprocating compressors and related equipment.

piston and rider rings

The CPI comprehensive range of piston rings, rider rings and rider bands meet the varied sealing and piston support requirements for the vast majority of reciprocating compressors, using a range of CPI Special Polymer Alloys, standard and special materials. Piston rings, rider rings and bands are manufactured in various designs ranging from conventional one-piece or segmental straight, angle or step cut design to the more complex configurations such as the unique Twin Ring design. CPI also custom designs rings and has developed specific combinations for particularly problematic and demanding applications. This has also included numerous conversions from lubricated to non-lubricated operation. Many successful field applications, using the unique range of CPI materials, have transformed both oil-free and lubricated compressor reliability, resulting in better sealing, less wear and longer run life.

The range of materials that CPI utilizes are available across the broad range of packing rings designed for unidirectional and bidirectional sealing, low pressure vent and gas purge sealing. This also includes high-speed and high pressure rings, as well as sandwich and triple circle designs. CPI Special Polymer Alloys, with their uniquely specific problem solving capabilities, have resulted in new piston and rod sealing systems that are able to replace traditionally used seals in almost every lubricated and oil-free compressor application. These developments have greater temperature resistance, strong chemical properties and a high degree of durability, producing a better all-around performance.

CPI oil wiper rings are designed to effectively provide containment of lubricants within the crankcase. Several designs, including tangent cut unidirectional and bidirectional and radial cut wiper rings, are available in a wide range of materials. The CPI oil wiper is designed specifically for those applications where total oil control is vital.

CPI combines a wide range of metallic and non-metallic materials and a variety of designs to meet with many typical packing requirements and also the more specific and problematic ones.

Available in cast iron, bronze or non-metallic materials, the unique design and operation of these rings provides extremely effective containment of lubricants and extended trouble-free service.

purge and emission systems

With the ever increasing concern for the effects upon the global environment, systems to control emissions are becoming even more important. CPI has a range of control systems to eliminate emissions from packing cases used in reciprocating compressors. Purge control systems maintain buffer pressure and monitor gas flow and packing condition. Systems are designed and engineered for specific operating conditions, and are available for single or multiple units with automatic and manual operation. CPI static seal provides the ideal solution to virtually eliminate gas leakage through the packing case when a compressor is inactive.

To fully complement the CPI range of packing rings and oil wiper rings, custom packing cases are manufactured in various materials from cast iron to high grade alloy steels, capable of operating in pressures of up to 700 bar /10,153 psi and in special stainless alloys for extremely corrosive conditions In addition to the conventional designs fitted with radial or tangent packings, specialized designs for more specific applications can be manufactured such as Triple Circle and labyrinth packing systems. Designs that provide gas purge for reduction of fugitive emissions in toxic or hazardous gas applications are also available. These are engineered specifically for individual requirements and conform to API618 standards. CPI also provides comprehensive reconditioning services for packing cases from various locations around the world.
