Junior Kindergarten News: January 2014

Happy New Year! It is exciting to begin a fresh new year with everyone. Thank you so much for all the beautiful gifts and cards. I have so enjoyed sharing them with my family. As a part of our ongoing study of the seasons, we will be learning about the variety of weather God gives us each season with a specific focus on winter weather. The Student Council is planning a school-wide Snow Fun Day on the afternoon of Jan. 31. Please dress your child warmly as we plan to be outside all afternoon. An extra pair of socks and mittens would be most appreciated! The Home Reading Program will begin first thing in January. A book will be sent home with your child once a week. Please read it with them, and send it back to school on their reading day as marked on the calendar in their Home Reading Program duotang. With your assistance, have them write the title of the book down in their duotang. On their reading day, I will read the book with them as well. This is a very exciting time, as it will build your childs confidence in reading. Please remember that if you would like your child to receive pizza on the last Friday of every month, and you have not already paid for their pizza order, to keep an eye out for the pizza order for in the Weekly News that is sent to you via email.

Blessings!
