Standard 1- Facilitate and inspire student

learning and creativity

By taking this course, I have:
Learned to use digital tools and resources more effectively and intricately.
I now know how to engage my future students in their learning material and through
teaching them how to model creative thinking through technology.
I have been using technology assignments that are shaped and customized for
individual needs. These address students different learning styles by allowing
students to use personalized working strategies, and abilities with digital tools and
resources.
Since I will use a collaborative reflective process, I will be able to assist the student
while they collaborate with others in face-to-face and virtual environments.

Standard 2 - Design and develop digital age
learning experiences and assessments

I was able to design all of the various projects and lesson plans that were given this semester. By
being able to create my own work for the students, I was able to incorporate digital tools into the
lessons and was able to let the students be creative how they liked to. This allowed them to
achieve personal goals and wants. They had requirements they had to meet, but were always
able to excel higher if they chose.
Since I created each activity and lesson on my own I had to consider the different learning styles
of each student. I was able to accommodate each learning style! I will be able to use all of the
assignments and lessons I created in this course in my future classroom. Through this I can
provide my future students with different and varied formative and summative assessments.
Through activities like creating a WebQuest, video editing, and using Web 2.0 tools I have
practiced using tools of various media and formats to help me communicate relevant information
and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers.

Standard 3- Model digital age work and
learning

I created all sorts of different kinds of activities by using previous knowledge, but I also was
assigned to create activities using technology that was new to me. I feel grateful for being able to
approach my future classroom more confidently and prepared from these new technologies.
Many of the tools I used and assignments I turned in demonstrated great examples of student-
parent and student-teacher interaction. For example, my video editing on YouTube, Screencast-
o-Matic, and Audio Boos are great examples of technologies I could use in the classroom to
communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, peers, and parents in a
variety of ways.
In the future when I am using the common technologies and even the new technologies, I will be
able to show the students and/or parents how to locate, evaluate, and use information resources
to support research and learning as well. I could even help out other teachers to further their
understanding and skills with technology.

Standard 4- Promote and model digital
citizenship and responsibility

Throughout my time at the University of Memphis I have learned that citing and using
the internet responsibly is very important as a student or a teacher. I always want to
set an example for my students by being artistic and not using anyone elses work,
especially if I want to evolve a digital culture not only in my classroom, but in my
professional practice as well. By doing so, I am promoting and modeling digital
etiquette to my students.
This online course has shown me how different everyone presents work and
understanding. Therefore, I have been able to become more globally aware a
smaller, different culture of people using the same collaboration tools and digital age
communication that I am.
After learning about modifications and different ways to creatively create and
assignment, I was aware that it is important to address the diverse needs of all
learners and use learner-centered strategies.

Standard 5- Engage in professional growth
and leadership

I feel much more ready and prepared to contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self- renewal
of a teaching profession and in my future school and community. The knowledge I gained in this
course has been extremely helpful and useful already in my life. I will use this in my future
teaching profession and in other aspects of my life.
I look forward to being active in promoting and demonstrating the effective use of current
technology and the new technology to come in the classroom and how effective and beneficial it is
to teachers, students, and parents. I will be sure to never stay complacent in my lesson plans and
always look up new technology in order to better my teaching. This will allow me to evaluate and
reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of
existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning
This class allowed me to use Interactive Learning Websites and tools like WebQuest, AudioBoo,
and Prezi. Each assignment and tool showed me how to participate in local and global learning
communities to explore creative applications of technology in order to improve student learning.
