support services to the geotechnical engineering
design and construction industry, including
government agencies, clients, consultants,
contractors and insurance sector.

COURSE BACKGROUND:

Training and continued education is important for
engineers and professionals working in the
construction industry. This is particularly so because
soil mechanics & geotechnical engineering is an
important subject in the civil engineering field. There
course will be conducted in 8 modules covering a
wide range of significant topics, which include:
(a) Basic Soil Mechanics; (b) Deep Foundations; (c) Socketed Piles & Laterally Loaded Piles;
(d) Slope Stability; (e) Earth Pressure & Retaining Walls; (f) Deep Excavations;
(g) Soil Improvements; and (h) Instrumentation & Monitoring.
The course presenters are well experienced and eminent practitioners in the industry.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is ideal for practicing geotechnical engineers, who are preparing to sit for their PE
(Geo) examination as well as civil engineers who are working in the construction and consultancy
sectors who would like to know more about this field as well as young engineers who are keen to
specialize in this field of their civil engineering career. It is also highly suitable to representatives
from client organisations or government agencies or those from the insurance sector, who have a
