Using Rxi To Build A Fixed Assets Report

This case study describes how to build a fixed assets report in Oracle Financials using the Report eXchange Designer (RXi) tool. The requirement was for a report that displays the cost, accumulated depreciation, and net book value for each asset grouped by major and minor category. The standard asset register report was not suitable. The steps taken were: 1) Create a new attribute set by copying the default set and modifying it to include only the required columns and rearrange them; 2) Add totals to columns; 3) Adjust column widths and headings. The final report generated with the new attribute set met the reporting requirements.

Case Study Abstract


This Case study is intended to explain how to use Rxi to build a report that display Cost of assets,
accumulated depreciation, and NBV

Case Study Details


The requirement is to provide a report that display the cost, accumulated depreciation, and Net Book
Value for every asset grouped by Major and Minor categories.
Oracle Assets has Asset Register Report which displays all data related to assets:

It was not acceptable to display a page for every asset while the information needed is in a line of three
amounts.

Approach
Modifying the attribute set of RXi report to display nothing than required information and using this
attribute set upon running the standard request.

Steps
1- Go to Report eXchange Designer Responsibility:
