On January 3, 2010, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Denver Police received a call regarding a stabbing in
the area of 4th Avenue and Utica Street. Denver Police Officers responded to the area and located a
male victim in the 400 block of Tennyson Street. The victim appeared to be suffering from stab wounds
and was transported to Denver Health Medical Center where he died just before noon. Through the
investigation it was learned that the victim was at a party in the 400 block of Utica Street. The party
was disbursed and while outside the victim was involved in a physical altercation with another
individual in which the victim was stabbed. The unidentified suspect fled the scene. This incident is
being investigated as a homicide.

The exact cause of death and the victim’s identity are pending the results of the Denver Office of the
Medical Examiner.
