On July 20, 2010, at 11:35 p.m., Denver Police responded to 2375 South Williams Street
on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found one male suffering
from a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the male to Denver Health Medical
Center where doctors pronounced him dead. Through the investigation Detectives learned
two males and a female where visiting the residence at 2375 South Williams Street.
During this visit, the three-armed visitors attempted to rob the people living there. One of
the robbery victims was able to seize control of one of the robber's guns. He then shot the
suspect. The other two suspects ran from the scene.

Denver Police identified the male suspect as Zachary Marco Montoya, (32). Police
believe Montoya left the Denver area possibly going to Colorado Springs or New
Mexico. The unknown female remains at large as well. Police obtained an arrest warrant
for Montoya for investigation of Aggravated Robbery and Kidnapping. Police consider
Montoya armed and dangerous.

The identity of the deceased suspect is pending positive identification and notification of
next of kin by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
